The death toll is estimated to grow to 100,000. Think 9/11 multiplied by 15, and you're still way low. I think I've made it pretty clear that I'm living in Thailand right now, but I honestly dont know what this country would do without US aid. Thailand would be the best off for sure considering we have the least dead (still over 1500 dead) but none of these countries can possibly rebuild themselves without foreign aid. It would not happen. I have a feeling my trip to Phuket is not going happen next April.

I know a lot of you got more than $500 in Christmas money. I'm asking you to donate a very small portion, say $10 or $20 to the Red Cross or another aid organization to bring fresh water and food to these people who are left with nothing and will begin to die not of injury, but of thirst or hunger and exposure. None of us have been around for a greater tragedy than this, and you should seriously consider helping out.

you ppl seem to forget that 9/11 was murder, this was an act of mother nature....you cant try to compare them bc theyre both different typers of tragedys and are as equally devastating and horrific
