An inexpensive yet good d-slr

inexpensive for a d-slr is what im really looking for but im interested in photography and have like 6-700 dollars to spend. im pretty new to this and i have used my friends up on the mountain, need help!

best price i found. it checks out on reseller ratings, its a nikon dealer, and it comes with a free 4 gig memory stick for cheaper than most places sell just the camera. ill be buying a camera this week probably and am definatly looking at this. i almost have my mind made up on the d40, but am not 100% sure
