went to spain two summers ago, saw just as many if not MORE MacDonalds in Barcelona than in the U.S., but guess what, i didn't see a single overweight person the whole trip. Why? because everybody WALKS EVERYWHERE, OR BIKES, OR TAKES THE SUBWAY. Thats why.

Americans in general are pathetic. We are completely unoriginal, not very welcoming, rude, and gross.
 
yeah I'm canadian and I went on my first trip to the US last year and this is exactly how I would describe it.

if NY is anything like the rest of the country.

Wow you are really going against the grain by admitting it, good on ya. Canadians are getting worse too, though. Not to mention like half of us weren't Canadian in the first place.
 
I do find it funny that sometimes I say that I will walk to the grocery store or a restaurant because I enjoy walking. People reaction is always that I'm either depressed or crazy because I just want to slow down for some reason...

Its therapeutic sometimes to just go slow and enjoy the world. People might be alot nicer if they walked more.

 
Your example fails. The McDonald's Southwest Salad has 960 calories. A Big Mac has 560 calories. A regular McDonald's hamburger has 252 calories. I'm inferring that you were referencing McDonald's as that is the place that has $4.99 salads and $0.99 hamburgers.

my parents/friends give me so much shit and give me the weirdest reactions when i tell them i'm in no rush to get my license (i'm on a permit, can only drive with someone who's had a license for over a year in the passenger seat) because i can bike just about anywhere i need to go

i fucking like biking, walking is just too slow in my opinion. this past summer though, when i was bored, i'd take my bike out and just bike huge circle routes around my town with some music in. not necessarily going anywhere, just going where the wind took me.

and to the person who said good for me for going against the grain, i honestly can't imagine how people could ignore the facts. americans are gross. the people in spain (maybe i'm biased cuz thats the only out of country place i've really experienced life in) were SO NICE. i knew spanish but they could easily tell i wasn't from spain and they helped me out with talking and understanding and getting places too.

people in general need to be nicer. i make it my goal to make people happy on a daily basis. the guys at my school cafeteria do so much work and don't get any recognition for it at all. dumbass seniors leave all their shit on the ground around their table and on the table and these guys clean it up for them EVERYDAY. as a way of "paying back the school", every student has whats called a workjob. some are cleaning a certain room every morning every other week, and others are more or less work. anyways, mine is to help clean up after dinner on thursday and friday nights, and tonight while helping i realized how unappreciated the guys who work in the dining hall are. kids here HATE having to clean up after dinner, and it's considered one of the worst workjobs, yet they don't realize that these guys do it on a daily basis, with or without our help, and they do more work than we do (they don't make you stay till the job is 100 percent done). so tonight i straight up walked over to the nearest guy working in the cafeteria after i was done cleaning, shook his hand and told him how appreciative i was.

felt good to make someone realize they're appreciated.

if more people'd just do something simple like that the world would be so much better.
 
Slow your speed there mister. Those generalizations are quite unnecessary. America is like that in some states, like texas. Colorado on the other hand is the healthiest state in the Union. There really aren't that many fat people here in the CO, we as a state are actually very innovative, we are constantly growing in population wether it be legal or illegal, we are nice, and we are lastly a very clean state. Denver is also a somewhat clean city when it comes to the "gross" standards of a city.
 
they're generalizations man, i wasn't hating on CO or Denver or anywhere in specific. Of course there are healthy schools in the U.S. and clean cities, but not the majority.

And by gross, I wasn't referring to cities just mostly to the lifestyle i guess. Americans have adopted the "more is better" idea from everything from food to money to cars to anything. Americans are much less considerate and kind and healthy than populations from other parts of the world.

I mean I made a full out generalization about the U.S., you just singled out Texas as gross and disgusting.

of course you could name brands but i'm talking ideas, styles, foods, cultures, and other things.
 
Bullshit. The Soviet empire destroyed itself. They were nowhere near having the financial capabilities of extending their empire into the United States. But hey, if thinking about that helped him sleep at night when his brain was getting wrecked by the imagined screams of Japanese children, so be it.

This so much. I love walking to friends' houses or restaurants but my mom always thinks it's because I'm trying to hide something from her/doing something sketchy (which is the case sometimes but that wouldn't stop me from getting in the car with her if I didn't feel like walking.
 
You cannot compare The US and Spain because Spain is like the size of Maine. The US is not the size of Maine. There is a larger land mass so there are obviously going to be more fat fucks and assholes and what not. If i compare Colorado (full of beautiful sexy intelligent healthy people) to some shit hole Slavic country we would win. Its all relative young man. also why do you feel the need to shit on America? I dont feel the need to shit on Canada or wherever your from.
