An annoying thing about "Paper Trail" by TI

I was listening to this album this morning and I noticed it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. I'm normally all about the music but come on, this is stupid. The song "On Top of the World" is just TI and Ludacris rapping about how they are rich as shit and everyone else can suck some knob. The whole song is about getting to the top or being a loser. Haha, then the next song "Live Your Life" is about not worrying about money and just living for the moment. Who writes this BS?!?!?!?
 
Whatever, I really like the cd. "Ready for Whatever," about him going to jail for the ak47s. The cd is dope.
 
Some people have failed to realize that music can have content and/or coherency. Unfortunately, these individuals are usually embraced despite their utter lack of artistic merit, and my mind and ears suffer as a result.
 
See i kinda have to defend TI. Not only in the sense that he was under house arrest when he wrote these lyrics and wasn't really living his life as he would like to, he also creates some of the sickest beats around. The only comparable artist with these kind of beats would be Young Jeezy and hes been laying low lately
 
i disagree, i liked his beats on his other album, but it seems like he is getting away from good beats, and just making stuff kids will bump in the car
 
I think there's some real sick stuff on the new album, and if it's just stuff kids will bump in the car then so be it. Believe me, i love good beats, and i primarily listen to mos, dilated, stones throw etc, but i'm kinda over the whole stuck up "main stream rap sucks" aspect. There's some decent shit on a TI album, or a Cash Money album, or a Roc album.

in live your life they say something like "you're gonna be, a shining star, fancy cars"

then later in the song t.i. goes "rappers always talkin bout cars" or whatever
 
lol @ kids hating on mainstream rap when really their favorite "underground" rappers are just as mainstream and they rap about the same shit.
 
Well there is backpack and underground. Either way most of the true underground shit isn't going to be talked aout on NS

have you heard a jeezy beat that isnt synthasized drums and some lame ass key-tar sounding bullshit? have you heard one beat thats actually sample based? i thinks not.

Idk what people on here consider underground, but the hip-hop I listen to is not mainstream and they do not rap about the same shit as mainstream artist.

With that said, I will occasionally listen to mainstream rap. It all depends on my mood.
 
Top Back Remix is the only song on that album that is worth listening to. Jeezy's new album is pretty boss though. Amazin' and Put On are my favorites.
 
Rick Ross's freestyle on Live your life is sick. That's all I have to say.
Also, I still listen to Whatever you like. That song is great.
