Amsterdam coffe shop

was there this summer, Just ask locals. there really aren't like great ones as there are just so many. just be aware I know there starting to break down on tourists entering coffee shops. so make sure its still ok to be in them.
 
they're making a law so that only residents of holland can smoke weed in coffee shops. don't know if it's passed yet though
 
I WAS REMINDED OF THE MOVIE EUROTRIP WHEN THEY EAT A SHIT TON OF BROWNIES ASSUMING THERES WEED IN THEM AND LOOK LIKE TOTAL RETARDS ONLY TO FIND OUT THEY WERE NORMAL BROWNIES AND WERE NOT ACTUALLY HIGH AT ALL. IF I LIVED IN HOLLAND ID BE PISSED TOO IF SOME RETARDED WIGGER AMERICANS CAME IN TO MY COFFEESHOP AND FUCKED AROUND TOO. SEEMS LIKE A GOOD LAW.
 
I went to a coffee shop in the netherlands (not Amsterdam) with a bunch of Germans (showed their foreign ids) about a month ago, and we had absolutely no problems.
 
that hasn't passed yet , so you are good to go to smoke some green . haha and for good coffee shops in Amsterdam go to Grey area or bluebird or " de dampkring"
 
And please don't be fuckheads when you come over here, watch out for traffic, watch out for the trams: so many foreigners get hit or run over by trams. Watch out for bikes as well.Ooh and Bussess and taxis will also drive over tram lanes if they can.

If you are smart you will travel by tram but DON'T buy a 1 hour card in the tram, this will cost you like 2,60 I don't know how long you are going but a 96-hour chip card is just 20 euros, and that is unlimited traveling in those 96 hours.

For coffeeshops just ask the most stoner looking local, there are tons of coffeeshops in Amsterdam and they usually have the same stock.

Also Dutch weed has far higher THC contents then American weed, so be wary of that.

And about drugs becoming illegal to tourists: higher concentrations of THC and drug tourism have challenged the current policy and led to a re-examination of the current approach; for eg. ban of all sales of cannabis to tourists in coffee shops from end of 2011. Each coffee shop will, from 2012, operate like a private club with some 1,000 to 1,500 members. In order to qualify for a membership card, applicants must be adult Dutch citizens, membership will only be allowed in one club.

And again watch out for these things, they go faster then you think:

i was there maybe a week ago and they are very lax on it there, my friend just went in and chatted the guy up.
 
Damn that sucks. My wife and I flew in and stayed a few days in your fine city. [claim] I rolled out of the bulldog baked to the bejusus and all of a sudden the polizi, or whatever come flying up in front of me and block the bridge over the canal. a boat full of press/photogs and the next boat has Hilary Clinton on it. I had no Idea she was on Euro tour and Slick Willie was probably home staining dresses. I thought about Screaming

So any way we (the misses doesnt puff) found your city to be great the museums, culture, freindly people, cool canals and oldschool boats all were enjoyable. The parking lots filled with my dads old school schwin bikes were cool.

I doubt we would ever return because Yurp full of cool places and sites like that and grand peaks , but chowin down space cakes and legally buying hash and enjoy a puff and a excellent cup of euro cafe is a huge draw. Shit I was eating spacecakes waiting in customs line.

Wont tourism suffer? Are dope smokin Americans/Euros not a big part of the economy?

the weed being grown and sold in dispenseries is on par if not better at least outdoor crop wise as DamnNug alyhough your countrymen blazed the trail so to speak.
