Am's that could be Pros?

I was just watching some instagram mini edits from people such as Crazy Karl, John Kutcher, Chris Laker and of course Steve Stepp and it got me thinking, judging by the tricks they do, some are good and some even do bigger and crazier tricks than some of the pros out there! I was wondering if they just simply don't want to go pro or what? I know that a lot of skiers just ski to have fun and don't want the pressure of competitions etc...But by the looks of it, they've definitely got an arsenal of tricks that would get er done!

I wanna know some am's you think that could go pro...

a lot of those guys dont like competing. im sure if crazy karl or stept put their minds to competition they would be sponsored in no time.

Those guys all are technically "pros". They get compensated by skiing companies. Laker isn't a super pro because he hasn't podiumed in anything lately. He rides for paying companies though.

That's for sure! Maybe they just can't handle the pressure yet.

Yeahhh I dont think its the whole "pressure" idea that makes them want to not compete.. I think it more along the lines of them being into just filming to create a movie with their friends more than traveling around competing and most of the time getting screwed over when they do actually compete. ( Camera Man in the way of Chris during dew) Its things like this that I think makes them want to stay away from the competing scene...

Side note: I would consider those 4 pros forsure! They could keep up if not win those competitions.

marketing. Kids want the skis that people win the x games on not the skis that people ski urban on. ( im talking about the general public not people who know shit about park skiing)

Some of these guys like John kutcher and Karl (who is a pro btw, he has a pro model) just simply don't have a big enough bag of all 4 way doubles to be able to compete professionally, nor do they strive for this bag of tricks. Alot of them wont bother so much with unnat dubs and unnat switch dubs just because they don't have to, instead they focus on more styly tricks and innovative ways of skiing.

Go back a few seasons and you will see that a lot of the stept guys etc were actually still competing and doing well and then I'm sure they all said fuck it and decided to have more time for something that they enjoyed more instead instead

I thought that Steve and Karl for sure were pros? They have pro models and sponsors too.. That confuses me. Ik being sponsored doesn't mean being pro but at what point does someone cross from am to pro? Competitions?

Good way to put it...

Brent Whipple. I think you'd need one of those big bitching ikea bags to stuff all his tricks into.

I'm calling it. Whipple is a future X games medallist.

DUDE. THANK YOU. THAT MOVIE WAS AWESOME, SO INSPIRATIONAL, THANK YOU.

i clicked the link and had in mind to watch the movie tomorrow if I had time, but I started watching a few minutes and then just couldn't stop. Having also been a fan of b&e since the beginning I really loved how both Phil and others described what they were doing. So yeah, awesome watch.

If you haven't seen it, WATCH IT. (don't get pissed at me if you then proceed to fuck work/school and run to the closest patch of snow to do what you love though)

what do you mean by a lot of the stept guys where still competeing?

hasn't it just been nick and seany?

and now abm.

I believe that the two most underrated and unknown amateurs are Bobby Brown and Nick Goepper. They definitely have the skills necessary to compete with the pros.
