i dunno. i think its wrong. but i dont think everyone should be like blah blah america sucks blah blah. notice how we arent the ones that are running after the water? and wtf proud to be a canadian? your telling me that no canadians would do that.. i don think thats true.
 
america is the most giving country in the world. When the tsunami happened some of the first people over there was americans and we gave allot of money, aide, support, and man power.
 
Uh, if you look at politicians in any country you will see the same thing as US politicians. You will also see the same party problems in Canada and in any other European country. Our laws are actually very lenient compared to most because of our diversified religious views. If you go to India, or any other country where there is a really dominant religion, you are going to see a lot more strict laws.

 
That may be true, but think about it, Its because we are one of the richest, most populous countries in the world. And we are hardley the only ones to contribute, Sweden was the first, followed by us, Germany, France and Britain.

We give more money in foreign aid than some countries make a year. We are by far the most food exporting company to world aid, and medicinal also. Like I said private organizations in the US and the American people give more than you can imagine yet people still label us the greediest in the world. We have a greedy economic system, but that doesn't mean our population is greedy.
 
I never said you wouldn't see the same things in other countries. I just don't want to live in Massachusetts where political views and politicians reign, I understand we have leinant laws, but some laws I disagree with. I would much rather live in a place like the Netherlands or Switzerland where you don't hear about politics as much as you do here.

nah...Iraq got screwed up be cause the Millitary underestimated a force that was obviously fairly well equiped, had a larger knowedge of the land, and had less to lose then the troops that they were fighting. Just bad tactics....
 
we didnt take out enough infrastructure, we didnt want to take out certain things like power plants becasue we didnt want to rebuild them

No, see. They aren't strong and we didn't under estimate. They just used GOOD tactics. How do you defer between a group of people who look similar and a group of armed people that look the same as them? See that's the same problem we had in Vietnam and it's the same problem we face now. We had infinite knowledge of that land. We have everything mapped out 20 times over. The Iraqi's have shitty weapons and shitty bombs, but you can't tell who's carrying them.

no the people have know the land, you can have maps, and some guides, but the people will always know it better. The invasion was not a surprise. And of course the united state millitary underestmated the force....the war was not finished in six months. There is still savage battles over there. The only place that the united states has total control of is the Airspace above....thats it. It was horrible tactics. Basic rules of war: never underestimate the force, never fight solders that have nothing to lose, and never fight a gorrila war without support of some of the people ( i doubt the americans were very liked by anybody at the time of the invasion or right now). They didn't stick to the basics.
 
the mission was accomplished at that point...but more needed to be done so we caught saddom. then more needed to be done because they still fought....so here we are, and if we pull out now it will ll be for nothing. hopefully the domocrats who now control congress will make the right choices and send a larger force to get the job done rather than pull out.

You are right. The US does manipulate many many things so that we gain benefit. While in some cases it may be morally wrong, it isn't illegal. I disagree with it, but that's the way capitalism works.

Look, it really sucks that 30,000 people lost their jobs, but that isn't the US's fault. That's economic globalization my friend. Everyday in America people lose jobs because international companies move their home bases to other countries. Trust me, Canada is not suffering near the amount of job losses that the US people are. Jobs are also being created though, we live in an ever-changing society, and job loss will be much more frequent than in the past.
 
This isn't a tactical war. In fact, it isn't even a real war. Congress hasn't declared war on anyone. We are in a state of "police action" or as Bush says it "liberation", but it's not a win or lose scenario. Going into this there isn't anything we could win or lose. If you want to put it on that basis, we've already won. Our objectives were destroy WMD's, find Saddam, and liberate the people. All three have been completed so why are we there? Like I said, there is no winning or losing anymore, only incompetence.

So as the U.S. we should be accountable for everything our bad politicians do? There's nothing I can do about stopping scandals for money, it happends in every country. All I'm saying is the U.S. is putting in alot more effort of eradicating terrorism, when the effects will be felt world-wide. look...you can NEVER EVER get rid of terrorism. Get that out of your head, that is a form of war that has been used for thousands of years. Second of all, yes you can do something about having back bad politicians. Go fucking vote, talk to congress, protest.....you can never get anything accomplished by sitting on your ass. Everybody forgets the power of a single vote. You don't increase Peace by going into a war that nobody wanted, and that had no grounds for it. Is there peace now.....nope, as a matter of fact, it was more peaceful under saddams reign. Nobody asked to get rescued.......this war was for personal gain. There were no WMDs, and there was no major threat to the USA at all from Iraq.....and everybody knew it. If the US wanted to do it right, they would have gotten the approval of the UN, but they didn't.

What tactics do you use against people who use themselves as bombs, and human shelds, you don't. Like i said you don't fight people who have nothing to lose since these people will do anything that has to be done . The objectives may have been accomplished, but the war is being lost. There is no peace in Iraq, and the country is not accepting what is happening. The war will be won when there is peace, and when the people stop fighting. It is a war. It maybe a war that your millitary will lose. Another Vietnam.

No where in my posts have I said other countries don't have problems. And yes, for the most part our country is made up of idiots, but mainley just the people who run our country. Im just expressing our most important right. Sorry to say, theres nothing you can say or do that will change my mind or make me leave. I love America, when it comes to the land and certain freedoms we have, I just disagree with certain choices our government makes, and Im not generalizing shit, im just using my freedom of speech.
 
yea i don't like it either. I am Canadian and I get mad when i see people hating on America. It is always the close minded liberals doing this. They think one person represents everyone in America. Thats bullshit. Canada has our fair share of morons just like America does. Then because the American governement is bad that means they have to hate the American people as well.

so what if the guy in the video is an ass. for one, we don't know the kids real situation. he was running after the truck for a while so i'm guessing it was NOT just for fun and that he really needed the water. so it is wrong of the soldier to do that, but at least he did drop it.

second, far worse shit happens everyday that doesn't make it to our ears and eyes. stuff that we (generalization) can't even comprehend. Wars get messy, I wish that video was half as bad as wars got.

As a world superpower, America is always being watched by everyone to wait for our mistakes then ridicule us for them. It's just the way it goes. I'm no politician and I don't know everything about the war in Iraq, and even if we think we know everything, there is a LOT that we don't and will never know. I don't support the war, but if I was forced to go I would because it would be disrespectful to every american soldier who has died fighting for this country.
