actually its already been torn in two many times after i made fun of things on the internet. those internet thugs are ruthless

Between every country in North, Central, and South America the U.S.A. is the only country with "America" used in its name. So suck my balls.

North, Central, and South America combined are The Americas. Latin America could also be used for most of Central and South America.

Let me clarify, In English, the plural form "The Americas" is often used to refer to the landmasses of North America and South America with their associated islands and regions while the singular form America is primarily used to refer to the United States of America.

It's the United States of America. Let's break that down. The united states of where? of america. It's the country, in america, that is made up of united states.

South Africa is not Africa, it is South Africa. No one just calls it Africa.

America is the word used to describe the new world. The United States of America is an 'of' of America, it's only a single part of it.

It's not even debatable, it's just how it is. Popular culture obviously has it that to be American means to be of the United States, but this is simply an altercation to the actual definition to being American which is to being of the Americas

Im a stickler for refering to to the u.s. As... The u.s. In formal situations and all, but this is a ski forum and there is no way you have never called our flag an american flag.

FUCK. YOU. Please do us all a favor and go take a nap on the nearest interstate.
I'm in the Army National Guard and our unit very recently returned from Afghanistan. I have several friends that lost their lives over there. I really fucking resent the fact that anybody could find this funny in any way at all. Just wait until somebody close to you is killed in a fiery car crash and you realize how abhorrently disrespectful this meme really is.

I really do agree with you that it is disrespectful and mean absolutely no disrespect to you and I'm sorry for your losses, buuuut. and this is one big but. you don't join the military and serve in a war zone and not expect to have people close to you get killed. you don't, however, expect someone close to you to get killed in a car crash. I'm not saying it's not tragic, but it's a war. It's expected. It's not nearly as tragic as a car accident and really can't be compared

Well I have to say you are right in a way. Somebody who dies in a car crash is an innocent civilian, compared to a soldier who is willingly risking his life in war. Yes, I and other soldiers have to accept that that sort of loss is inevitable in our job, and often become somewhat numb to it. In that way it is less tragic But do you think the loss is any less tragic for the soldier's family and civilian friends? All they know is that their loved one is gone. The fact that their friend or family member signed a contract stating that the wellbeing of the nation comes first doesn't make it hurt any less to them. And sorry I was a bit heated and didn't take the time to thoroughly dissect the analogy I was making.

You are on to something here. So if I live in one of those states I am therefore American. You seem to have a problem with the fact that we simply acknowledge where we are from. I may be from Utah and my cousin is from Colorado, but we live in America. Do you understand this? You are Canadian, if you are from ????? province and you have a friend from Ontario, then you both live in different provinces of Canada. If you want to get real nitpicky you could say you are American or North American, but that is not what you call yourselves in Canada, and that was your choice not ours.

What I really don't understand is what do you want us to do about it? Stop calling ourselves Americans?

WALES.
We have the most complicated language in the world-yeahhhhhhhh.
There's a place called Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgolgerychwyndrobwllllantiliogogogoch. And yes there is 4 L's in a row there.

I think the humour derrives from the fact that those guys look like massive cunts who think being in a war is cool because you get to run around with guns.

You are very lucky to live close to a snowdome.

that my local, still like an hour and a bit by public transport.

I need to start trying to get to cas more.

thank you. i didn't take this picture as disrespect to all armed forces; it seems like it's calling out the very specific breed of soldiers who think that they can all become John Rambo the second they touch a gun, when the reality is that the government sends a lot of ground troops overseas as disposable resources.
