American Made vs. Made in China

I prefer American made stuff but I've gotten great stuff made in Canada, the UK and Japan. Basically i try to buy american as much as possible but otherwise I just avoid China.

I once bough socks made in the USA.They were the worse piece of shit I had ever put on my feet. Their sewing was super sketchy and they felt like sandpaper on my feet. Just so fucking uncomfortable.

I swore that day never to buy inferior American product and pledged allegiance to our superior Chinese overlords.

this post made me laugh.

I could care less. Chinese goods are usually comparable quality while being significantly cheaper.

I'm sorry but no. Just an example, jiberish went 100% down hill after they went to china. I trust no ones opinion on anything if they actually believe Chinese and American products are comparable .

I always find there is a substantial difference between clothing that is manufactured in America/Canada and that which is manufactured in China. I recently bought some really nice hand-made and hand-dyed t-shirts from LA and although they did cost way more than some shit from Forever 21 or American Apparel the quality makes them worth it. I'd rather pay 50$ for a really well-cut, American-made, shirt that is super soft and durable than pay 20$ for a cheap Chinese shirt that will likely fall apart in 6 months. Now I am not saying that everything that is made in China is shitty (my iPhone is testament to that) but in regards to clothes I prefer to spend the extra $ and buy something American/Canadian made. I always feel better supporting more local economies as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Jiberish clothing always been produced in China?

Unless my meter's broke, I'm fucking tired.

Except american appearel makes their clothes in LA? Are you saying quality does not exist in other countries, as in its impossible to buy a nice shirt if its from china? Where do you think yuppie chinese buy their shirts? I'll bet its not from America.

Oops I meant American Eagle. And no - I didn't say that. I'd just rather save up and spend my money on clothes that are made in America/Canada than I would on clothing that is manufactured in China because the quality is generally better and it helps to support more local industry. That doesn't mean that every article of clothing that comes out of China is shitty, but a lot of the time there is higher quality in American/Canadian made products.

95% sure it was made in the u.s and I think the 11/12 line was the first year they outsourced. But I guess that's from what I remember so we are gonna need a 3rd party opinion on this bitch. But I remember watching a video about them picking out stuff in china or something
