American army vs. canadian army

Oh Mercer, I don't doubt that there are tons of totally awesome people over there, but I'm also aware of the fact that it is a HOTBED for conflicts because of the religious and cultural diversity in the region.

I'd love to see peace in that region, but looking back over 3000+ years of violent history, it seems like it will be an extremely difficult process.
 
you tottally missed the point i was trying to make. ancient soldiers might of had to deal with more bs but that didnt make them any better fighters, if anything that stuff fatigued them before battle. i was saying that the marines are put under the toughest boot camp and training there are probably some small groups that have stronger soldiers but of any major mililtary force they probably on average have the toughest soldiers.
 
Assuming it was an all out war like WW2 where soldiers actually wore uniforms instead of hiding, then America would wreck Canada's shit. The U.S. army can fly a cruise missile into your bedroom window from half way around the world, we would just leave a big gaping hole where Canada used to be.
 
Canada's army is the shit, we got super lazers and x-wings and shit. We could fuck up the us if we really wanted to.     

Seriously though back in the day Canada created the Avro Arrow, which was way ahead of its time and an amazing fighter jet, the abilities of this machine scared even the U.S. so America agreed to protect Canada's airspace and in any other cases of invasion, ( mostly helping Canada out if the Russians went over the North Pole to invade). So the place went out of commision and the Americans protected us, our military level dropped to 0ish, so we don't piss anyone off and we have a very small army. They use to have shitty funding and training, but it is getting much better with Harper in office. 
 
Do you know why the American army is still considered the most powerful? Even in comparison to say China where they have way more soldiers. Because America has the ability to project it's power. That's what makes it a truly formidable military. That's how military strength is measured.
 
umm it's not really a war anymore, actually never really was, unless you believe in that "war on terror" nonsense they keep spewing. if that was their objective they would have done something in Saudi Arabia where all but one of the 911 terrorist were from, and where there are stricter rules limiting rights of the people than there was in Iraq. what it comes down to is bushes staff is extremely bad at peacekeeping and rebuilding a governmental structure that we were so quick to topple (not that sadam good, he was terrible, but there is even more problems now).

I dont know if anyone is actually gonna read this...but I'll try anyways...the New York Times...the most left(liberal) of main news stand papers...published an article by brookings research group (a well known liberal funded board of people with Ph.Ds and Doctorates to give their opinion and research on any given matter) that summed up stated that the war in Iraq is going way better than predicted, and that we have an opportunity to win this war (this is from the same people who told us that we should pull out three months ago)

The population of Canada is smaller than the population of California. For this simple reason, the Canadian military is smaller. But oddly enough, we're allies! Both militaries get the wonderful honor of wandering around policing the world until its citizens decide that "war" isn't as cool as it was a few years ago because nobody told them that casualties were involved in war, and they wish the troops would come home, but it would sure be nice if the government would go do something about Darfur, ect...
 
nothing will be able to match the stealth and maneuverability of the f-22, the exhaust vents can change direction and is the only fighter with that ability so that maneuverability has reached a new high for these types of aircraft
 
^ oh and the euro fighter keeps it's ordinances on the exterior where as the 22 keeps them hidden inside the fuselage improving stealth capabilities

 
yes but the euro fighter has its horizontal stabalizers on the front there for it has more levrage to manuver the plane making it just as good. but it does have less stealth

1. Obviously the Military of the United States of America is far grander than any in the world. First of all, every standard Army and Marine soldier is issued an IBA (intercepting ballistic armor) and some sort of 5.56 Armalite rifle. (The Marines are issued the M16A4 SAM-R and the Army guys are being issued a mix of M16's and M4A1's fitted with SOPMOD kits) Then there are the special ops guys.

These include: Army Special Forces Groups, Army Special Forces Operational Detatchments (SFOD-D are the famed Delta force), Army CAG, Army ODA, Army 75th Ranger Regiment, Navy SEALs, Some Navy EOD, Some Navy VBSS, Some Navy UDT, Air Force TACP, Air Force PJs, Some Air Force EOD, Marine Force Recon, Marine Exipiditionary Unit, and SOAR (Special Operations Aviation Regiment). They get issued various MOLLE vests usually in the MLCS and are fitted with 10.5" or 10.3" SBR M4's (aka CQBR's). Then obviously is the Airforce with its F-15's, F-16's, F-14's, F117's, B1's, B2's, B52's, E-3 AWAC's, and soon to be F22's and F35's as well as the Navy's F-18's and Harrier's. Not to mention every kind of bomb under the sun.

one of my best friends is at the naval academy at annapolis. they do some serious training there. taking repeated hits to deaden nerves so you cant feel pain...you really have to go through it to know how intense it is.

Lets just have a comparison of the small arms of America's Military and the canadians army.

Canada uses:

A 5.56mm weapon terminated as the C7(as standard members of NATO are required to use) which is a complete and utter knock off of the Eugene Stoner created M-16. They also use the C8 which is another knock off of the Colt Model 727 better known as the M4A1 carbine. Usually these weapons are fitted with minimal accessories, some special forces are known to use ECLAN sights, KAC 300mm rear sights, and maybe Eotechs and Aimpoints. In short they suck and lack the KAC RIS because Knight's Armament Company is an American company.

America uses:

Mainly 4 types of 5.56mm gas operated rifles a couple 7.62's. First of all the americans use the M16A4, much better and more authentic than Canada's knock off "C7". They also use M4A1's with SOPMOD Kits. There is also the 16" barreled shitstick called the SPR/Mk12/DMR/Recce/Recon rifle. Then there is my favorite, the 10.5/10.3" barreled CQBR. This is usually fitted with an Aimpoint m68 red dot sight, Surefire m951 light, KAC RIS, Wilcox mount, LMT rear sight, and a Crane stock, for seals. For the rest, its basically customizable. Then theres the 5.56mm SAW and mk46? For 7.62s, theres the m14, m14EBR, Mk48, M60, and the Sr-25.

WOOOOOWWWWWWW IIMMMMMM BOOORRRREEEDDDD ATTTT WOORRRKKK. But there you have it. a head to head comparison.

That got shut down by his own country, the US, because THE US LOVED ISOLATION. Then came WWII. Again, we tried to remain neutral but noooo you Speedo sporting Europeans haaaddd to have us come save your asses again. Well by the end of WWII we were left with many assets and a lot of power. Soviet Russia was on the rise, and as far as we could tell (from the obvious commitment by winston churchill, france, poland, and other countries' attendance to NATO) they wanted us to be peacekeepers from the spread of communism. It was now our "job" as expected from members of NATO to keep communism from spreading. Obviously that sparked the korean war. The Vietnam war, contrary to popular belief, was not started by us... we even tried to prevent it. But noooo those idiots tried to blow us up in the Tonkin Bay. Needless to say, the first Gulf war was very well justified and many people supported it. Our latest mishap in the gulf (whichi would not say is a mishap at all) is a retaliation due to 9/11. THEY KILLED 3,000 HARD WORKING AMERICANS. Either way, the world is a better place without the regime of Saddam Hussein.

America's reason for entering wars was cuz of the expectation from small poor countries such as Poland from being overrun by communists.

This could not be more wrong. Our elite soldiers undergo much much more intensive training and on the infantry level our standard soldier is much better trained and well equiped than yours. Canadian soliders wear CADPAT (worst digital camo out there) plus a 90's era flak jacket, a belt/subload, and the C7. An American soldier wears MOLLE/PALs gear in the Eagle MLCS with a ceramic plate, as well as soft armor in the form of a PACA or CIRAS insert, a belt/subload and carry an armalite. Not to mention Marines are the world's best standard infantry. I would like to see Canadian SF take on even standard US rangers. Much less SFOD-D, or SEALs. Do you have any idea how SEALs are trained? Ever heard of BUD/S? Or Army SF training? Or Ranger Recruitment? You can argue size but if there are 2 things you cannot argue about are the quality of soldiers and the quality of gear/ weapons.

As for armalites being shitty in the desert: The new era armalites being m16a2+ (m16a4) and m4a1 have no major reported problems. Theres a dust flap that goes over the ejection port to cover sand out. Plus the SF soldier's and SEALs and some Airforce PJs and Marine Force Recon have the new and improved CQBR upper with enlarged gas ports so they dont dirty up easily. Plus all US soldiers are thoroughly trained in weapons maintenance. Moreover, armalites arent the only weapon feilded by US forces. We also feild the 7.62 m14 which you could rub in sand, drag through mud, and then fully submerge it and itll still fire. Eitherway its not a convincing argument seeing as how your army uses cheap "Colt" Canada knock offs of our m16 and m4.

I don't know anywhere in the news (besides fox, but that doesn't count as news) where it says Kim Jong is threatening to attack us. I do know he tried to upgrade his nuclear weapon facility and I do know the people of North Korea are severly impoverished and lack nutrition other than the vitamins in rice.

Please give me some evidence why I am a "dumb shit" and continue fourth on why you feel it is so blatant that he is trying to attack us.
 
And if you dont believe me that US soldiers are better than Canadian soliders:

I've already listed all the units in USSOCOM but lets take the 2 most elite: Army Special Forces Operational Detachment Delta and the Navy SEALs. Navy SEALs undergo BUD/S Training which includes basic boot camp, 2 weeks of indoc at Coronado, hell week which includes 72+hours of sleeplessness, constantly being "wet and sandy" and hypothermia pools. This is said to be the worst self subjected torture on earth. contenders are forced to sit in hypothermia inducing pools for just the right under lethal time limit. They are required to do every training excersize underslept and being encrusted in rash and chafe inducing sand. SEALs then go through sniper school, jump school, demolitions school, and small arms school. Afterwards they must choose amongst, medic school, comms school, engineers. "Delta Force" recruits are already soldiers who have upped the ranks into more and more elite programs. A lot come from 75th ranger regiment. They are thoroughly devoted to the military and under go CAG training.

On the other hand, the 2 most elite members of CANSOFCOM (CANadian Special Operations Forces Command) are Joint Task Force 2 and the 427 Special Operations Aviation Service. Theres also some anti nuclear and biochemmical type stuff. But the JTF2 and 427 SOAS are the main ones. Both undergo a clone of the US Army's SF training but lighter because they want to keep it a "peace keeping angle". Therefore, they are less devoted and less hardships have been put on them. Not saying anything insulting about the Canadian Army but they are simply trained less and less harshly.
