Though i am fairly new to Newschoolers, i have had a chance to read many threads and i have noticed that there is a lot of anti-American talk going on out there. Basically i was just wondering if anyone out there lives in the U.S. and actually appreciates the freedoms they enjoy everyday.
 
It's not so much anti-American as it is anti-Bush. I rarely see anti-American things brought up. Most of the time it's just a pre-pubescent kid trying to get some attention.

I am from the US, and I love it. I respect what I have and am very glad to be in the situation life has put me in. That doesn't mean I will put aside my logical and moral thinking in the back of my head just because of the place I live.
 
what do you love more, your prez or your freedom? because mr.bush is slowly taking your freedom away, your going to have to chose. i have a feeling you have the confederate flag as your icon because your trying to be "trendy" like atlantaski
 
WE are taking OUR own freedom away. Bush just proposes the idea, we are the ignorant ones that vote for it.
 
Thank you my friend, i also enjoy the freedoms and way of life in this country, and like you i don't really like George Bush all that much. but i love my country and i support our troops.
 
i love my freedom and lke i just said i dont like bush all that much but he is the DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED leader of my country so i do support his office. and as for my icon, FUCK YOU, your the i'm cool because i'm a hippy liberal fag i hate bush lemming like the rest of the NPR loving pussies in the country, if you hate it so much MOVE!

 
yeah support the troops, the troops who have killed tens of thousands of innocent iraqis. maybe we should only support the troops who deserve it. maybe instead of trying to be blindly patriotic you should look at what are troops are doing over there from an angle other then fox news. there are statistics about this kind of thing, hell bush even said himself , he estimated that around 30k civilians were killed. who knows how many more have died since he said that

we say support the troops because they are supposed to be the best right? then maybe they shouldnt have killed all of those fucking innocent kids who did nothing wrong. i would have no problem putting a support the tropps sticker on my car if they did what they were supposed to without commting mass fucking murder.
 
You have no idea what urban warfare is like. Any war is going to have civilian deaths, but you don't blame civilian deaths on our troops. You blame the politicians. The troops didn't start the war. Plus, it's so damn hard to tell who is a civilian until they reveal the explosives under their robe. In Vietnam, they sent 10 year old girls starpped with explosives to the American soldiers. Don't even talk like you know what war is like. I don't agree with civilian deaths, but I say it again blame the politicians, not the troops.

ok we blame the politicians. isnt it enough of a reason to impeach bush? 30k deaths that could have been prevented if bush wouldnt have fucked up the intelligance he used to gain support to initialy go into iraq?
 
See, it's not just Bush. Stop pinning everything on one person. Rumsfeld, congress, Rice, Cheney, etc. They all deserve equal blame for the current situation in Iraq.
 
What freedoms has he taken away? give specific examples with evidence.

Show me realiable statistics showing 30k civilian deaths. They are part of any war. At this point an impeachment of Bush for any reason is unjustified. The current situation in Iraq is not perfect, but tell me the Iraqis are not fucking better off without out a leader like Saddam that had rapes rooms and killed thousands of his own people. Sure there is still war and it's not perfect but it will take time to build a country back up.

I appreciate me freedoms. I think your confederate flag is a little over the top, and I live in Georgia. I think a conferderate flag icon is hardly trendy.

war isnt a fuckin video game - you don't understand at all. the troops arent bad guys who go out of their way to kill civilians. the troops are doing what they're told to do, and i'm sure they feel terrible about innocent casualties.

but i guess you're also one of those people who think the government is telling the troops to kill innocent civilians. because we all know that the US government is good for nothing but death, despair, and hate.
 
to bring this thread back on topic, I have never seen an anti-america thread started by an american. regardless of political stance, most americans realize that the US is the best place to live in the world.
 
I swear to god, if i hear one more person say "you are ignorant" or "what an ignorant comment" or "You ignorant American". It gets to a point when you call everything ignorant that you become ignorant for constantly saying it. If you call everything ignorant sooner or latter no body will care and you will just start sounding stupid.

BTW i'll also say in response to your post that it's not people from OTHER countries that caused me to start this post, i started it because it PISSES me off when kids from the US come on and bitch about how much their country sucks and about how much they hate the government. I merely pointed out the fact that they should shut up and enjoy the nice lives they're able to live.
 
in ur first paragraph ur telling somebody that u have "all the right in the world to talk about whatever the fuck we want." Then in the second paragraph ur telling kids who dont like their country and government to shut up. So you can say whatever u want but anybody that has anything to say against the US has to Shut up.

Dude, im american, and that was a fucking stupid thing to say. do you really think that the us could "pwn" anyone else in the world? No. We never even fought a country man, we removed a leader, and bombed the shit out of afganistan trying to find a terrorist. Iraq as a country is NOT united against us. Its more like what we did in vietnam, stepping in on one side of a revolution, than a war between countries. And just to let you know, Isreal has the finest military in the world, not the united states. Take a look at their airforce, and their tank/troop statistics, and you'll see what i mean. The US might have a larger one, but isreal's is far better trained.
