America Undergoes a Major Political Revolution in the next 3 years

Its the truth, the founding fathers would be puking if they saw the current state of our government. They all believed in the Protestant work ethic, never should a country take money away from hard working upper class and give it to lazy ass bums. People in our country have got this idea of entitlement in their heads and it makes me sick.
 
I want Colin Powell to run, but he never will. Hes an true american, grew up dirt poor, joined the army and worked his ass off to become to first and only person to join the army as a private and become a 4 star general
 
That may be, but consider the fact that it occurred over 200 years ago. No one could see, prepare, or even comprehend what changes would happen in that time period.
Self propelled transports? Airplanes? Nuclear weapons? The Internet? Travelling to the moon? A global economy? Etcetera, etcetera. The list goes on.
While their goal was to create a "more perfect union," and that they did accomplish, but their moral practices were not suited for this major change of events that has preceded that era. (I mean, how would Ben Franklin react if he saw a lolcat?) They did however know that in order to adapt to the future, they would need to allow the constitution "flexibility" to ensure the lasting stability of the country with whatever the future threw at it.
We are in a weird time now yes, and there are many problems facing this country. Some that even threaten the coziness that we as fat-ass american have enjoyed this past decade. (Boo hoo!) Fuck it, bring on some reform, I welcome it as long it is practical and smart. But at this point in time we sit better as a country, than from most of what our short lived history has been.

Government needs to undergo massive audits, conservatives need to be shot in a lineup, and the churches need to be shutdown if they have ANY hand in politics. We need taxes to be lowered, Social Security to be dismantled, Medicare to be cut, and the defense budget to be lower by 33%.
Problems solved.
 
The founding fathers didn't all believe anything, they were in constant debate. Hamilton vs Jefferson to name an example. You obviously don't have a very diverse background since you conveniently place your adjectives to a given connotation of the upper class being the working class and the lower being "lazy bums".
Entitlement? Can you please back that statement up? Few if any people I meet feel entitled to their situation. Most just feel downright depressed and lazy. There is no entitlement in it at all. It sounds to me like you have been spending a little too much time at the dinner table and not enough time experiencing the world for yourself and becoming an educated person?

nothing will change that much unfortunately. America will continue on its slow decline in power compared to the rest of the world. the economies of the world will continue on their path of becoming more dependent on each other. this should create a somewhat more stable/open world I would like to think.

anything can happen though, predictions past 3yrs are pretty much impossible.

i agree with the cutting of military spending, but when you say "nobody will sacrifice anything" completely untrue. Our government spends unheard of amounts of money to fund our military, i think everyone knows that. If we drastically cut that funding at one time though, what are all of the soldiers and people who are employed by the military going to do? I know a good majority of soldiers never received an education past a high-school degree so then we would have to educate them which would cost even more money. i say implement a bill that cuts percentages of military spending off year by year so we can properly assimilate military employees into society and redirect the funds elsewhere.
 
What are soldiers going to do? Not my fault they all dropped out of highschool. No matter what they end up doing (pumping gas, flipping burgers, panhandling etc) I'm sure they'll be better off then being used as little pawns to go into the middle east and die for nothing.
 
solid response i see where your coming from, but would you rather use government funds to help a soldier who served our country get a better education? or to help a crack addict live and fuel their addiction off welfare checks

what this country needs, in my opinion, is a middle party.

No single ruling group is good, and having only 2 constantly swap power is arguably worse.

This is more or less the way american politics have always operated. 1 or 2 parties, people get sick of it, new parties begin to develop, then the old ones start to disappear and the new ones restart the process.

Heard a very interesting talk by Ralph Nader awhile ago, and he basically said that the problem with 2 parties is that 3/4 of what they both do is repeal and change what the other has done, regardless of how good or bad it is. Just to spite each other. He claimed that the 2 party system just doesn't produce the results that a country the size of the US requires.

The Founders would not recognize many, many things in modern day America; civil rights, universal suffrage, Miranda rights, safety regulations to name very few. So, what's your point again?

while I agree that this whole thing is a bit of a sham, (politics that is.) I've never liked the argument over people having it worse.

People have a right to complain about shit that happens to them. End of story. Just because somewhere, someone else lives in a grass hut and has nothing doesn't make our problems go away. Sure it might make them seem a bit less important, but they remain nonetheless. And if a country is going into a bad place, I sure as hell wouldn't want people to be thinking "oh, well this is bad, but somewhere else, someone has bigger problems. So let's think about them."

If it's relevant to you, you can complain to an extent. (excessive complaining does no good for anyone.)
 
I'm pretty sure people have to be somewhat awake and aware of the problems at hand before any real successful change can take place. Maybe when shit finally hits the fan people will use their brains a little bit? Maybe not, we'll see
