I agree that some/most of the fabric of the US is total shit, its a plain true fact. And alot of that is because of flawed capitalist policies, another cold hard fact. But as you say it will fall, but I'm scared when it does, it will take the rest of the world down with it, I think when America falls, as all empires do, another plain fact, the world will die.

I agree with most of your post. However, I somewhat agree with the thread creator, but he presents his arguments in a terrible way. I like how most people speak out against the war today, but were all for it back in 03'. I was actually one of the few who spoke out against the war then, and went to protests and tried to educate people about why this war shouldn't start. Whenever I see people post in threads like this they always seem to remove themselves from the problem, and then think of an idealistic and unrealistic solution to a problem they were probably too lazy to research at all prior to posting, before going back to watching stupid videos on youtube. Yes, there are many things that are not going as well as they could in this country, but if you don't like it they go out and try and change it... don't just sit in front of your computer and waste time and bitch.

I won't go to any other lenght to try and get my point across you probably dont know what the fuck your talking about either. All I was stating was what can be seen from the point of view of someone not in america. the end the reign of economic superiority of america will obviously come one day or another you dumbass it has always been like that it will always be. Some societies have succeeded in doing way more than what america has done yet they have fallen, they have all fallen. If you think the economic reign of america over the world will last forever you are the dumbass here. america is bound to crash at some point or another, chances are you are going to see it in your lifetime . All empires rise and fall it is as simple as that . thats all I wanted to say
 
chomsky;s a good read.  i did't really understand this post... but i think were going to crumble soon.. i mean the dollar is so weak, its insane.. and everything is so inflated and pricey.. I am really astute about prices of normal things like groceries.. and its insane the jump in price there has been in the last 4 months.  But people aren't getting job raises or a national minimum wage raise.  Plus Bush just asked for another 46 billion dollars for Iraq.  Its crazy.  I am so worried.

Seriously, you should be ashamed of yourself, that's just not right. And did you forget about the train bombing in Madrid? What about the USS Cole? What about the US embassies in Nairobi, Kenya, Dar es Salaam, and Tanzania? Or all the attempted attacks that were disrupted.

Also I fail to see why you brought up Iran? Yes, it's being talked about. No, it's not a definite. A reason? Did you also forget about Iran's nuclear program? Tell me, why does a country sitting on top of one of the largest oil deposits in the world need nuclear energy? What else can you do with a nuclear reactor? Make plutonium? Yes! What do you do with plutonium? Blow things up.

well they are the leading power economically, all other countries look up to them one way or another. They are the richest and strongest right now and all im saying is that it wont be like that forever

Face it, there are more realistic ways to look at things differently that don't make you seem as dumb as you really are. You are not original, you are just too dumb to see things the way they really are. If you had the slightest clue how dumb you are you would be on your way to the store to buy razor blades. No matter how many people think stuff like this its a load of crap. Look out your window, watch the news, then look in the mirror. America is as much a part of you as your stupidly "radical", uneducated ideas.

Ya, i lived in Germany through the first 3 years of the war and now I live in Colorado again so its not like you have some sort of exclusive view on the world from wherever the hell you live. Plus I work everyday with people who have actually been to all these places that you are talking about. I also see firsthand the effects of war.

And i don't think i ever said anything about the "reign of the American economy". That was pretty much entirely you, out of nowhere. I mean where did that come from in the first place?
 
a lot of lefties need to realize there is a lot of soldiers out there who want to fight for this country. they did sign up for the army...you think they signed up for health benefits? you liberals need to stop always thinking that your correct and listen to the arguement. Bush is doing good things buy trying to find nuclear weapons. what if he never did? what if they find something huge like 3 a bombs that were supposed to hit nyc where i would die. where millions of people would die. the world would be hugely affected. washington dc could be wiped out and then what? these guys are fighting for a cause and i stand by Bush and the troops and i want to thank them for keeping this country safe.

I really like the first part of your post, because it brings up an interesting, overlooked point. No single idea is right. Bus may be doing some good things, but you proceded to ignore the other side of the argument. While there are some soldiers who want to fight, the guard did not sign up for constant duty on the frontline. We may be doing something for national security, we may not be. We are not making any friends in the process.

Yes we need to make sure we dont go totally left wing and just pull out but that doesn't mean Dubya's plan is the right way either.
 
yeah i agree with you somewhat. but i like the safer then sorry motto. its not easy to ignore the what if's when your so close to home on where big terror attacks have happen, like 9/11. thats why its a good idea to put camera's on the subways and busses and don't let illegal immigrants get legal drivers licenses. because what if...then what?

I would say that, through Neo Conservative influence, the United States will become an empire. People don't like to hear the word empire, though. So we use words like "nation building" or "spreading democracy" When in reality, no one in our government really cares about Iraqi freedom, or anyone else's freedom. It's about what it has always been about, money. We're heading down a similar path as the Roman empire; over extending ourselves abroad for the sake of increasing our size and influence around the world. This is why Rome fell, and is why the US likely will too.
 
about the war...have people lost connection with what war means? Through out history it seems that countries have gone to war with each other for no particular reason. Sure, there may have been some reason for each, but nothing major. It seems like people have a World War Two type "fight the nazis, the definite bad guys" atitude now. There may not always be some clear enemy. Some wars, like the world wars had definite causes for each country fighting, rather than just the leaders being pissed at each other. As for Vietnam, with the Gulf Of Tonkin and the destroyers supposedly being attacked, people who bring that up act as if it was the first time any government ever might have staged or faked an attack to rally it's people behind their cause. That has happened repeatedly through history. How do you start a war? you attack, fake being attacked, or you really are attacked.

Face it, governments go to war, usually for no reason other than because they want to. It's just what they do.
