this article put into words what I had been thinking since middle school. alot of the things from the article I realized while it was still happening so it made my life alot easier.

seriously read all of it I know it may seem long but its very well written.

i'm not to sure about that article... it's only from the "d popularity" side of the spectrum. How does he know if he's never been on the "a" side?

me neither, and personally i wouldnt want to be popular. when youre "popular" everyone loves you, and i think popular people dont have any true, true friends. i have 4 or 5 TRUE friends who I can trust with anything, who I can talk to no matter whats happening. popular p[eople have so many friends, i dont know if some of them have time to get close enough to any of them to be able to talk to all the time without the secrets getting out. i just dont see whats so great about being popular
 
well its too bad that you didnt finish it. because the stuff thats said later on isnt only about popularity it compares differnt society structures and trys to explain how they differ and why. in fact if you read further than school alot of the stuff said in that article aplies to this website
 
i think high school popularity is crap. is it just at my school, or does everyone in the "A" rank drink, smoke, and have sex? seems like if you do "scandalous" teenage crap like that, it wins you popularity. i've seen kids i know from middle school that were losers, and never had a chance at popularity. but once they were in high school, they started doing drugs, and suddenly everyone loves him. why? why are kids so frigging stupid that they need to do crap like that in order to have fun or be cool?
 
if u read the whole thing its really good. he actualy does relate stuff and explainds. that was a very good/true artical.
 
Yea, i read it. It's true. Society's gay. And I think im like in the middle. I don't want to be popular. But I;'m friends with some of the popular kids. And I can talk to the crazy nerds to without being frowned upon. It's basically becase I'm dead sexy.
 
if i ever have kids im gonna have them read that when they go into middle school, or around that time
 
Ok some kid was standing in the hall with a sign that said will you go to homecoming with me. i almost beat the same kids ass for yelling at my friend for talking to me in the lunch line. is that not an excuse to be persecuted.
 
I didn't understand any of that. But the article does make sense, but I don't think intellegence really matters, except to a certain point.
 
I'm pretty skeptical of anyone who tries to make sense of the futility of high school social structures by using logic. Anyone who tries to analyze anything about teenagers using common sense is probably missing something. Teenagers aren't simple to understand, that's why we do drugs, do irresponsible things and dont give a fuck.
 
same i have a friend he gets 95 average but he still plays all sports has a million friends and gets his dick sucked by a different girl every 2 weeks
 
BS, all of it is total bull shit. the 2 smartest kids that were in my grade (9th) in highschool were probably the most socaly respected kids (amung the other freshmen)in the whole school.
 
Yea that article is BS. Popularity has nothing to do with intelligence, it relies on how you interract with other people. Social skills. I also dont think that school is just a place for adults to drop off kids so they dont fuck up the work place. School is a neccesity, he touched on how careers are getting more specialized, and because of that is why we need school. We cant just go out and be an apprentice to a brain surgeon, and expect to learn everything we need in a few years. The article makes it sound like he thinks school isnt neccesary and that its just a prison, or daycare for teenagers.
 
that sounds a lot like junior high but in my highschool at least the smart kids arent like made fun of or shit like that
 
I don't learn one fucking useful thing from school. Except maybe the basic Math stuff. The only thing I think they could teach you that could be useful, would be how to study. But they don't, casue they're dumb.
