Am I wasting my time buying Head Mojo 80's for all EC/no Pow/80% park?

The enthusiasm for these skis doesn't seem to be as widespread as a couple months ago (according to the search)...but I'm still not convinced that my other possible choice, the 06/07 Scratch FS WRS are going to be a better ski for me.

I'm 6'1", 185lbs., coming off of 174 PEs mounted at +4. Like I said in the topic, I'm 100% east coast (PA), no powder, 80% park, 20% all mountain. After skiing the PEs for a year, here's what I'm looking for:

- Something just as durable (mojos)

- The skis need to hit 2-4 days of rails per week for 2-3 seasons without falling apart (mojos)

- Something lighter (fs wrs)

- More park oriented (fs wrs)

- 79-85mm width, 181cm length (either)

- 80% park / 20% All Mountain

- I'll probably mount -1 or -2 behind true center

If I have any misconceptions above - please let me know.

I wish I could demo both before making a decision, but the ski's are already disappearing from stores (for 181's) and the prices are rising...I used to be able to find both for $300 no problem, now they are at $360 and at less stores - so I don't know if waiting is the best solution.

Any help, advice? Thanks again to everyone who has helped me so far.
 
Generally speaking, lighter is not usually more durable.

For what you're looking for, with those durability requirements, your best bet is getting the Head skis, just based off their reputation and track-record.

Either way though, both skis are going to be thrashed after 2 seasons of rails 2-4 times a week.

my big hold up on the scratches is that the edges are thinner as part of the weight reduction system - so I feel like that substantially hurts their durability.

Maybe going with the regular FS is more of an option - I don't know.
 
Really? i've never heard about the edges being thinner on the WRS Rossis. That sucks if it's true.
 
I read it in a post at some point while searching around - wasn't sure if it was true. They said it is was don to help reduce the weight for the WRS system - so I went to check them out in a store, and as far as I can tell, they were thinner than the rest of the ski edges there (checked them against PE, Troublemakers, and Seths)...

Maybe my eyes were playing games with me. I'm also pretty sure that the Ghetto's kept that smaller edge.

Can anyone confirm this for me? I've tried finding an e-mail address to ask Rossignol directly, but I haven't been able to find one - the number I tried for them didn't work either. The only thing they list on their site is a mailing address.
 
Ouch. that is soft if it's true about the WRS and thinner edges. Especially on the FS model.
 
I'm pretty sure the scratch fs has "normal" size edges and the fs wrs has the thinner edges. Again...I might just be making things up - but I saw it with my own eyes, so I believe it's true.
 
If you want to stay with head I would definitely go with J.O. pros or the spawn 2's (lower end J.O. ski)

given how much park you do those skis would be awesome
