Am I too big??

Im 6 foot and weigh 230 pounds (105kg). Keeping in mind that I live in the UK, and if I want a decent ski Line is really the only company easily available I was gonna buy the skogan 178 (which has had great reviews in all the magazines over here in the UK) but I'm worried that it will be too small. Really the only other ski on offer is the Pollard Pro 186. What difference does the will the extra 8cm really make, and what about the difference in flex (the pollard being slightly softer)...also is the pollard a good alround ski like the skogan??

Go with the pollards

You heard it straight from the man kids, get Firefox.

Screw this I'm going skiing

^thanks for the really helpful advice but i already play enough rugby, im not really sure that I'd have time for bowling, but maybe I'll look into it...maybe you could suggest a few clubs that i could check out?

Thanks everyone else but why are the pollards better? Is it just because i'd be better suited to the length? How does flex change things?

i demoed the pollards and they were stiffer than shit, and i guess theyd be pretty good for a fella your size.

Hey dspin, isn't nice that you can talk shit from behind a computer screen? I bet this guy would kick your fucking head in if you had the balls to say that shit in real life.

I would say to go with the Pollards as well. The length is a big factor man, you are pretty tall but your weight also warrants a longer, stiffer ski. The Skogen is actually stiffer than the Pollard but the extra length will be key for you stability wise.

Seriously get smaller...start dieting...not saying yoru fat either but i fealt i was too big a year ago and stopped lifting just so I could maneuver better when I ski and I can ski way better now..but if it isn't that important to you then it doesn't really matter

you are one giant piece of internet suck -...focus....

Thanks for the advice, I'm touched by your concern! Actually it's important to me that I DO weigh over 220 pounds: I play semi-pro rugby (english version of american football, only without the pads and helmets, in case you didn't know). I'm a front row forward and if I lose too much weight I'll probably lose my position in the team: if anything I need to put ON weight! But for anyone who carese I just ordered my Pollards this afternoon. Thanks for the help.

damn yo 2 of me = 1 of you

6' 230 is not fat.

That's just pretty built.

Not exactly prime for park skiing, but if he has a solid lower body, he can be a very good skier.

My friend used to race and is 6' 225 or so and is a great skier.
