my buddy bet me that within 2 seasons from now nike will be making twin tip skis. although it is possible i bet him a few things that it wasnt.

Thoughts?

Safe bet, Nike should be occupied with golf for a while, after that it will move on to other things even before snowboarding. I can see skateboarding or inline among others before any kind of snow sport, except mabe clothing.

you never know with nike...a couple of years they started making skate shoes and signed paul rodriguez among others and now they are a major player in the skate industry

if they really want to make skis, they can. chances are they have enough money to lure skiers from other companies to build a team and whatnot

freeskiing is becoming a lucrative prospect, they could cash in

maybe they'll buy some company and release twin tip skis to try and appeal to the youth, i think its more likely they do this wif a snowboard company first

I think you are safe. If they do get into skiing, they will buy a company and use it to produce a product line for them, much like Quiksilver bought Rossi and then started using them to produce their Roxy Skis.

they are already making clothing so is a safe bet that they wont be to far behind with the hard goods to match.

golf, basketball.

NKE will push skate apparell, accesories shoes, and then maybe move into boards....very tenatively.

then snowboard apparell, eyewear(addidas remember) and maybe boots, then bindings and boaards.....

freeskiing is super super super low on the totem pole. 2 years is way to quick.

all just speculation, but I think pretty accurate.

legit brobrah, nike isn't going to manufacture skis or any other hardgood anytime soon. they already technically own the rossignol group so they really have no need to manufacture nike skis. however, I can see more skiers/riders for rossi/dynastar sporting quiksilver and nike outerwear in the coming years.

yeah i was gonna say that

as they did with golf they started making golf apperal then the big thing awhile back was the golf clubs and balls and suchso i figure it will be boards then they will get big into snowsports and it will go all down hill from there

YOur safe betting no twin tips. But in the coming years or even by the next olympicsi think we will be seeing Nike as more of a player in the ski industry. They have already begun making all kinds of new technology for Bode Miller, including his race outerwear. I woulndt be surprised to see nike purchase, create, or liscense a Ski Company. Although there is a lack of independent companies that prodouce race skis now, i think it's only fischer, and stockli.

maybe buy a company... but them make ski's straight up!? bahahahah that's the dumbest shit i ever heard. No once would buy the "New Nike Phat Air Jordan Twins" with super swooshes!

the ski would come out with a whole new revolutionary technology of pnewmatic skis.

as you approach the jump, all you do is press a buton and the ski automatically in the blink of an eye raises the top sheet from the base (while still connected) to get you that extra pop.

that shit would be tight
