Am I progressing fast enough?

I'm worried I'm not progressing fast enough on tramp and skis. Is this rate of progression normal?

Tramp for 2 years:

frontflip, backflip, lincoln, misty (both ways), misty 3, misty 5, misty 7, cork 5, cork 7, cork 9, dub front flip to pad, dub frontflip 180 to pad, dub lincoln to foam, misty 9 to foam, double misty 9 (on tramp)

Ski (freestyle) for 2 years:

180 both ways, left 360, 540, front flip and misty to foam, 270 on, 270 off, 360 on box

Biggest jump I've hit is 30 feet

Is this normal, or too slow? I go skiing about 55 days a year and go to woodward at copper, colorado a lot.

No. You are way too slow. If you don't progress faster, your ski resort will take your pass away. You should be doing at least doubles now.

Just have fun. Sorry to say, but you most likely will not become the next Tommy Walnuts. Have fun, and tricks will come along.

I see you're a pretty new member here, so welcome! (I guess I am too, 100 posts is still pretty low)

As you start hanging out more here on NS, reading posts, being a part of discussions, you'll realize that almost no one ski's purely for progression. They ski for fun and to enjoy themselves out on the snow.

The guys above me prove it, just ski to enjoy yourself. If you don't think your ready to compete, don't! Simple as that. These things can take time for sure.

And if you really really do want to get into the competition world, you can't compare yourself to the 13 y/o super humans that you see everywhere on the internet. The only person you can compare yourself to is you. Just be true to your style and your way of skiing and the progression will come naturally.

What a swell guy

Please, don't worry about how you compare to others. It ruins the sport for you. Progress for yourself not to be the best. There's way more to skiing than being the best skier on the mountain.

Just be yourself. You do not want to lose a season to injury because you are trying to keep up with other people.

There will always be folks better than you out there just accept and live with it.

That doesn't mean don't stop trying to get better.

I ski to get myself off.

No but seriously my 2nd year of freestyle skiing I only learned 360 with a tweaked saftey on a 45ft jump a back 270 and a kfed. Thats it. You're progression is fairly fast, but remember to have fun while progressing. Try the trick you can do good switch or add a new style or grab with it.

Been skiing freestyle for 2 years and I can 360...don't worry about the progression you seem to be pulling shit together. I'm stoked to just go out this season and throw some 3's in the pow.

Just make sure you are enjoying yourself, that way you know for sure you are getting the most out of your skiing.

I didn't read but you shouldn't worry about it. Have fun. IF you're worrying to much about shit to the point it's not fun than that's lame. I understand your situation just saying have fun, ski with good kids, make some edits, shred as much as you can, and you'll get better and have fun doing it.

If you want to progress push each other to try new tricks when it's nice out or a feature is set up perfect. Vibe off each other.

Build a summer set up if you really want to get better and have some fun in the summer. I worked at a mountain for 3 years where most of the park kids were young. Some kids were pretty bad on their first or second year in the park, rocked out summer setups and lapped the park with friends in the winter and they were throwing down hard by the time I was leaving. Like fs 450s out from 14/15 year old kids and this was like 4 years ago.

Also with all the crazy tricks being possible kids progress insanely fast these days. It's awesome

I'm working hard here to visualize that misty 3.

Back to topic, as the rest of these guys, I don't think it's too slow. Progressing is fun seeing how it feels nice to check a trick off, and the feeling you get when you try new tricks is so great, but it should happen at your own pace. You don't have to progress just to prove yourself to other people in the park, and friends on social media. You shouldn't force progression, then you loose the joy of skiing if you don't progress as fast as you would like, looking at 15 year old kids doing trips. Fuck that, just enjoy.

As has probably been said already, just enjoy yourself... The more i ski (and even tramp believe it or not) the more i realize it is really all for my own enjoyment. Just enjoy riding with your friends and if you want to progress, make friends with some people that are better than you. They can help you with the tricks you want tp get down and you will pick a lot of things just by riding with them.

Do you have a notebook to document dates of tricks you land and what you should progress to next?

Jesus christ man just go ski and have fun...this is the stuff that most people don't like to see in this sport.

I'm new to this site like u but I realized that you dont need to being doing the best tricks out there just do the tricks you can and have fun with them. The progression will come naturally so don't force it.

Trying to focus on progression makes skiing sucky and much less fun, which is what it is all about.

Took me two years to learn the basics, cork 7 flat 3 rodeo 5 misty 5 and eventually it clicks and now I have dub flat and dub misty and cork 10 and stuff
