Am I missing something here?

A school with mostly white kids beats a school with mostly minority kids in basketball. The fans of the 'white' team start chanting 'USA' & a giant political correctness controversy ensues:

I think it's really important that people in a free society give respect & feel respected, especially in a school environment like the one in that story... I'm just confused by this incident. I've never equated the "USA" chant with racism before... Have we given up projecting the melting-pot image onto ourselves and collectively decided that this is a fundamentally racist country? Or is this just Texas' way of trying to convince us that we have?

ORRRR am I just clueless about what's actually going on in Texas in regards to tensions between recent immigrants and life-long citizens?

The kids from Alamo are just shit heads. They're racists. And they chant "USA" because in their narrow minds, the majority of the US population lives just like them in large houses in nice built-up suburbs. Those kids from Edison were different, and therefore they weren't accepted.

Shit like this is stupid. it's so...high school...but like 1950s high school Honestly I can't believe this shit happens anymore. I'm surprised that Alamo fans who WEREN'T chanting "USA" didn't do something about it. I know I speak for more than myself saying that I probably would've hit the kid next to me if they pulled that shit.

Fuck that.

I don't want to startle you, but there are a lot of unintelligent people out there. Some of them believe that being born into an unchosen geographical location makes them superior to others. Some of those people also believe that in order to be part of this fictional abstraction you must be white. That group of people attended a basketball game. Enter: equally unintelligent people who, in order to be offended, must accept the premise that living in a certain geographical location is meaningful, and that being excluded from that fictional conceptual label due to their skin color is something worth getting mad about. They could have stepped back and thought, "You know, I think these people might just be retarded. Well boys, let's get the fuck out of here and never come back. Jesus Christ." Did they do so? No, they went full retard as well. And that's that.
