well i got some 09 anthems in late febuary and i got about 20 days on them, i absolutely love them. but the problem is is that i'm building a summer setup and my only choices for skis to ski on it with are my 09 anthems and my 08 stls. the stls are not center mounted and they're like 15 cm small on me. the point being is that i don't want to use my stls andi really want to use my anthems. my anthems need to last 3/4 of next season, and i can't afford to fuck them up. also i'm really light so snapping them isn't an issue.thanks guys and help is appreciated

yes, slowly they will deteriorate. it gets worse adn worse and worse and soon you end up with no edges, core shots, topsheet damage, etc... RIP Moment Reno Jibs

yes. but i guess it also depends on what you use for drop in, landing and your rail. my drop in is a dirt hill and we hike up w/ skis on, so my fairly new dynastars went from new to crappy with scratches and core shots in like 15 days of backyard seshing. it takes a toll on your bindings too, especially if they get wet. my stuff is still usable now, but I would definitely say use your old skis and not your new anthems. they will get trashed, and having short skis on rails isnt always a bad thing, less bulk to throw around makes it easier to land your tricks. hope that helps

for my summer setup i use an old pair of long skis i found in my uncles garage and gave him 5 bucks for! then just cut them down and re mounted the bindings. if the bindings are shit just use them till they bust and then put some good ones on because, in my expirience, they dont take to much damage if there quality bindings! you could probably pic up an old set pretty easy at an op shop or somthing? even ebay if you get lucky and have someone local! depends where you live but coz you dont need a sidecut or anythin so it shouldnt cost much... plus its sick to paint em up and shit!

good luck!

they do get fucked up really depeneding on your setup. i completely ruined a set of bindings and skis. I mean yes I did hike a dirt and rock invested hill and used water so my bindings got an infinite amount of dirt and mud in them and no longer pass inspection. depends on your setup. turf setup on grassy area you will be fine

thanks for all the replys guys really appreciate iti think i'm gonna just try out my anthems and see how it works out.

Nooooooo!!!! Dont Do it!!!!! I have used my 09 invaders for 2 days on my summer setup and i already have a core shot and some insane scratches on my skis. And im on a grassy hill with turf

my skis are trash because of it. no edges, very visible core shots, topsheet scratches everywhere, and my binding plate got twisted out but i just twisted it back in.

for real...are you guys serious i just spent my entire day building a drop in ramp i guess i will just use so really old skis first

There's always a chance.Plus core shots shouldn't be your biggest concern, your edges should be.At least you can fill shots, your edges can't be replaced. Just spend like 75 bucks on here and get a pair of beaters.

Because even if it's considered soft to say your feet, your bases wouldn't like it.Landing on rails, even if it's just PVC, can negatively affect your bases really fast. You would be fine for a few sessions, but if you plan on doing it frequently they would get messed up.

Then I think you should consider getting a pair of urban skis. You could easily pick a pair up with bindings for $100 or less.

I think I'm just gonna use my old '06 PE's. I am going to have an astro turf drop in, steel double barrel rail and astroturf landing (with probably something soft under it so i dont hit rocks and shit. Also I'm going to put padding on either side of the rail because i plan on falling a ton.

wait till labor day weekend and pick up some old strait skis for very little at one of the millions of garage sales that theres ganna be. then remount them

well, I have skied on my vaders i bought at the end of the year last season, and skied them 4 days on my turf so far and i have no damage as of now. but its not that big of a deal to me because i am buying afterbangs for next season.

use the stls for sure, i think its fine that there a little too small for you, the center mount part...i dont know

Try to buy some really really cheap shitty pair so that you can jib and urban on, those you can fuck up and it won't matter
