Am I being scammed?

I’m making this thread because I bought a pair of kung fujas from DarrenC for 200 bucks and I would pay him 25 bucks for shipping when I get them. So all goes without problem he tells me he his leaving for a road trip so he needs to get rid of them fast so I get them at a good price.

I sent the money April 28th and he told me that he would ship them out the next day and give me the shipping number. I don’t hear back form him for a couple days because he was on the road (believeable). I called him the third (or fourth ) day and he gets in contact with me and told me that he gave them to a girl and he was almost 100% sure she shipped them out and would give me the tracking number. I texted him the next day and no response. I called him forgot about the time zones so it was like 1 am there so I appoligized. From here on it gets scketchy. I text him and patiently wait for the package.

So now comes today, I call and text him and I could tell he was ignoring me calls. It would ring once or twice then got to voicemail, kept texting and told him to man up and talk to me. Kept calling (probably was annoying) and got him to answer, I say “hey” then he goes “hello?” I say “finally I bought skis from you..-” then hangs up. I texted him and told him he has till 730 to get this sorted out and talk to me or else I am filing a claim and contacting the police. I may still be proven wrong but I am leaving on vacation Wednesday and I don’t think it takes that long (april 28th-may

Help me out and tell me if I am being scammed. This makes me mad because I work my tail off for money and finally make enough to buy skis.

sounds like it to me. luckily there are tons of NSers in the NE and hopefully one of them can help solve this so you dont have to deal with the popo

seems really sketch but the road trip could be right because he hasnt logged on and the 1 guy in his feedback is a local at my hill and hes legit so idk. it does seem really shaddy though

whats his number? i know its a dick move, but its also a dick move to ignore calls. Maybe if his phone gets blown up by ns'ers calling him and explain himself, and either send you the skis, or your money back. Depends on what you want to do. Maybe wait it out a little longer.

did you check his feedback before you bought it? and you probably got scammed

speaking of which, why the fuck is there a feedback thread? THE FEEDBACK SHOULD BE PUT INTO THE MEMBER'S FEEDBACK SECTION. if this kid scammed someone before, you wouldn't have known if the person who was scammed put a "this kid is a scammer" post in that thread because theres 12+ pages that you would have to go through to find it out. that thread should be deleted.

doesn't matter, when you think your being scammed, make a callout thread IN B/S/T like this

title it: CALLOUT:(insert name of douchebag here)

explain the situation

give relevant numbers (price etc)

give any information about where he is so other NSers who are local to him can find him for you

ask a mod for his IP address and find out if he has any alias's hes still using, and where he logs in from.

copy and paste any relevant PM's

the reason you put CALLOUT: name

in the title is so that when someone else buys from them, they can do a forum search for his name and see if he scammed someone before

do this and we'll be more able to help you

good luck! NS scammers are scum and I hope he is properly raped and you get your stuff/money

i gave him till 730 its 715 so in 15 minutes im filing a claim.

and i checked his fedback like said above the other guy was legit.

It's a shame that people suck at communicating these days, if you make a deal with someone, that should be first priority. but i'd wait a bit longer, he just seems like a lazy shit.

ya man its kids like these that ruin NS but if you payed through paypal you can always file a claim and of course as said above do exactly what it says for that callout thread

Man stuff like this stuff really makes me mad. Can't people just be honest? Anyways you can make a paypal claim, but most importantly you have his PHONE NUMBER! You can call the cops for sure and track this guy. Good luck and I'm sorry this happened to you.

its 730 no answer. but this time he didn't ignore it.

I have to study but its hard when you know some either lazy or lowlife scumbag has 200 bucks of yours. I am only 17 so technically i need an adult to press charges i talked to my mom she said to file a claim at 730. one thing that makes it a little bit tricky is they are out of town and i'm leaving wednesday afternoon till monday

very similar thing happening to me right now except i have been letting it go on way to long. get this figured out quick man. definately go to the police. also message a guy named "lineinvader05" he will help you out alot.

will do, i just opened up a dispute on paypal and most likely be changing it to a claim. Its wierd with out him talking to me at all i would think he would want to back himself up or something of that nature.

yeah same here, the guy ripping me off would be on ns virtually every night until he realized everyone who saw the thread knew he was full of bs. I just sent him the same text 24 times and he eventually responded. then he moved on to tgr and is trying to rip people off there...

yeah its only been 13 days but still it doesn't take that long to ship skis. im on it but i still believe him about the road trip thing

yeah, i was going to buy a dope sweatshirt he made, but i don't have the money right now to be buying it. the whole time he seemed legit... i have no idea

sounds like your annoying as fuck

haha

i traded skis with a kid and the ones i shipped took like a month for some reason and he freaked out lots and thought i was scamming him and called me and texted me all the time and i just didnt answer because the story was the same thing i told him the day before, but the skis got there in the end, he sold em like a day later, but wut ever

your probably not being scammed he is probably just lazy

Sorry to hear about it bro. It def sounds like a scam, especially when he is purposely avoiding your calls. Sounds like your doing the right stuff though. Get on that claim, and start piling up as much evidence as you can to support your argument (txts, emails, withdrawals and transfer of funds, etc.)

I once got scammed out of $900 for a car, but this guy was a pro...couldn't track him down after. shit blows, but you live and learn, and now I take shitloads of precaution

this goof trooper skis at loon too? and hes from new hampshire? two strikes buddy, NOBODY soils the name of the best mountain in the best state in the country.

get those skis out to him, or there will be blood. believe me, the homies roll deep round those parts. we got ya number.

UPDATE: I did some research and got a hold of his mother (who's email i sent the money too), she said that he gave them to his sister to ship out and they just got out late. I'm still pretty upset he wouldn't tell me any of this and why he answered his phone but not the rest of the time. But she said that they were out and she'd get back to me with the info and maybe on a blue moon get him to call me.

This looks good for me, it looks like an honest mistake
