ok,this isnt "brown-shoes" this is scientist. I am on this account becasue it is my friends' and i happen to know the password. anyuways wheever i sign on it takes me to www.ski.combine.com orsomethinglike that. Im scared. As far as i know iohavent done anything wrong or anything. whats going on???
 
I dont understand thouhg. I didnt do anything wrong. I never got any warnign from mods. I was for the most part friendly, and I gave good advice in the forums. I was never lippy or anything. All ogf a sudden Im banned? this is bad man.
 
rory, how did you break your tibia? haha and brown-shoes. just keep that one. or pm one of the red guys (nopoles, mr.bishop, cam, cko) they changend my name fr me, those guys will know how.
 
Maybe the smell of suck was just too strong for the mods to take. Oh and that sucks about the leg man.
 
thats lame if its for no reason. just talk to one of the red guys and im sure they'll fix it.

thanks for the explanation. I cant really remember posting to many derogatory things like that. lateralis posts so much racial stuff and realated disgusting stuff, so does mommy. I know everyone likes them, but it feels sort of unfair.
 
within a couple days I remember deleting several pairs of comments by both you and whattheshit which crossed the line of simple humour. Maybe you just had bad timing as we have done a recent sweep of users to show that extreme racism and other issues are not tolerated here any longer. Yes there are other people who break the rules but they managed to be not as obvious in the past weeks.
 
well I made a new one, perhaops they might make it a temporary ban. but if they dont no worries
 
First of all, I would like to ask you what I said exactly that made such an impression on you to actually ban someone. I don't recall making any derogatory comments in any of my recent threads. Personally, I feel that I have cleaned up my act since I first got here.

Second of all, I am not sure how you treat donators, but I would think that for a member to go out of there way to make a donation for the continued existence of this site, some sort of warning would be standard. I am not saying that a donators status should grant a member immunity, but there should be a different level of consideration when it comes to banning members that have donated.

Thirdly, I am not the bad one here. I actually have to laugh at the fact that myself, scientist, and others have had to made examples of when many before us and many right now are getting away with personal attacks on others and even on the alias lil G/Gordion where there is little restraint in letting him know about the racial epithets used to degrade the race that the alias is portraying. Even if it is stowebum who owns it who may be a white kid the damage still would be done for any black skiing enthusiasts.

In conclusion, if you can show me in my own words what you thought were inappropriate enough to be deemed ban worthy then I will let this lay as it is. If not there should have been some sort of community wide warning about the crackdown on derogatory terms or at least a warning should have been passed on to the members with emphasis on donating members.

If they do get a warning I can understand the mistake since I was a silver donator and the contrast of the silver on the white forum background is difficult to see. Otherwise, a warning would have been nice.
 
definately. i have never been offended by anything ive seen you or scientist post. then again, im not that easily offended. everyone should at least get a warning.
 
I was not involved in your ban whatsoever. But I too distinctly remember coming across some threads that you posted in which was very offensive.

I am sure it was intended to be a joke in response to something lil_g had said. But I recall a post talking about hanging black people, and not in those words. And we have to draw a line somewhere. Not everyone will take it lightly, even if it was intended to be.

I completely agree that you deserved a warning prior to a ban. Especially since you have made quality posts in the past, and are not just here to start trouble.

I, on behalf of the mods apologize for that. The problem was that the system got delayed, and the bans should've actually occurred some 2-3 weeks ago, right after the posts were made. The delay mixed things up a bit - which is the only reason why lil_g hasn't been banned already. His posts are unaceptable, and he was placed to be banned a while back. I would post the comment you had made which probably warranted the ban, but because it was a while back now makes it difficult to find it.

Regardless, I have alot of respect for the people who have given back to ns, whether financially or by other means. So for that, I thank you.

In your case, I do believe you deserved a warning prior or explanation. As far as I know, your ban was temporary and was only originally intended to be a quick head's up.

i heard you were, but oh well if you aren't then you shouldn't have to worry and act so offended.

as for the lil g thing, i recall the closest thing that i said that was remotley racist, or if you can even call it that was when lil g showed a picture of himself in a white hoody and i said "well, you don't see a black person in a white hoody often" im usual pretty careful about what i say, but if i do i take it right to the brink, but i don't actually cross that threshold to use racial and cultural epithets against someone... since i go to university with people in real life on this site and i want to remain respectable.
 
In regards to banning, I think that it should be a warning for everyone, unless it's an extremely unacceptable thing, in which the person is probably trying to stir things up. I think you guys do an awesome job though. Props.
 
i always thought that scientist was pretty cool but then again i obviously didn't see any of the bad stuff he posted .
 
you should renew scientist's accountalso . i know hime in person, hes a good kid. im sure he was just joking around, and i highly doubt he will do it again.
 
joking around with racial slurs, not cool, theres joking and then theirs crossing the line between a joke and an offensive joke
 
if you cracked down and banned everyone that made a racial slur /2 this site would be gone
 
we're not going to ban every single person for making a racial slur. But if they go on talking about killing, hanging, or gassing a group of people, that completely oversteps the line.
 
why can I not say nigger, but I can call a girl a cum guzzling hoe and and its fine? And yeah I see that shit alot. Along with all kinda of other things, their are like 10 comments I have in my brain I remember about Jews and gas chambers. Or smashing babies against walls? None of its funny, but that almost* never gets deleted. nI'm not raggin cuz I love this site. And think you guys do dang good. But yeah I just think that things should be taken into consideration, like scientist, he was bad ass, same as what the shit both some of the better more useful members of the site. But yet we have like Rockymountain who is jsut a dick all of the time, or biff=retard? lil g./ Arthur? No I'm just kidding. actually not. how is lat not gone anyway?
 
yeah, yu should definately consider their previous posts/ overall attitude before banning them, and if they do something wrong, warn them first
