Am i a bitch for riding 157 when im 5' 10"

he (you?) needs bigger skis if you're that good

Yo op, I would go longer. Small skis just make you look goofy as fuck imo

Honestly who cares, the rule of thumb used to be skis that went right up to your nose, or chin if you preferred them a bit shorter, were of the right fit. Now the rule has changed, and people ride longer skis. I'm 6'3 and ride 177 Afterbangs, that are probably a tad shorter than I am, while my brother that is 6'6 rides 175 Recoils. It's obviously all about preference, and who cares what size you ride, it's not up to anyone else. And on that subject, when the fuck did everyone start riding loosely oversized skis?

well if you were to ski a ski with rocker or early rise in the same length as you would cambered skis theyd be bit squirelly

I rode 161s when I was around your height, got called out but didn't think too much of it. Got 181's a while back, hoooooly shit, so much better. Once you get used to the extra weight and not being able to spin like a top, it's fantastic. moral of the story: go big or go home.

makes up for the rocker in a lot of skis and assuming you can control it, added stability for harder charging.

i have no idea what i'm doing

well I'm 5'7" and ride 172's.

I'd say a good measurement for fully center mounted skis is you exact height. any shorter and they get squirly and look strange, any longer and they'll be hard to do switch ups and throw 7s with.

so basivally your right up there with him? im 5 8 and im on 176 and 195 jjs. absolutely despise them small pow skis. bigger just seems to fit me more.

I'm 5'8" and have park skis at 176 and powder/rockered skis at 188. I personally wouldn't want to ride anything shorter than 170 and think that under 165 at my height is absolutely ridiculous.

it really depends on your skill level..but my roomate shreds and is 5'10 rides a 181...soo i guess you be the judge

Dunno what type of skier you are or prefer, but on average, 157 is a little too short for your height.Longer skis will help you go faster, more control, easier to stop, and less bobble.

Parkwise, better for takeup, more pop off jumps, and more stable when you land. however, short skis are easier to spin...

Dont really know who told you shorter skis are easier to spin.. Cause i could see it being true for 3s, but anything more than that is harder with shorter skis. Longer skis=more swing weight which=faster rotation.

longer skis longer D. proven fact. thats why Glenn Plake skis on like 210's because he looks like a 70's porn star./endthread

Lol you just bought 157's? A very poor decision on your part; you should be riding at least something around 171.
