i was at a party last night and someone told me if you collect a gallon of aluminum tabs, you can trade them in for like $180 or a keg. does anyone know if this is true or not?
yep...we've done it three times out here...we carry our 5 gallon bucket to every party we go through and everyone pitches in...we do the kegger at my buddies house...we get house cup, and everyone else gets small cups...the lines get ridiculously long...
ya its true you can get a keg for a gallon of them i thinks its out of WA or PA but i could be wrong. my friends have like 1/2 full so probally by next year will have enough. a galoon is actually a ton of tabs, more than i thought.
Why the tabs and not the entire cans? I assume they're doing this for the aluminum since its pretty expensive... maybe the cans have impurities while the tabs dont?
We get it from an on off sale bar....they do the tabs because the tab is denser in metal content and also there is then less "air space" or "wasted space" in the pail....and for us it's a 5 gallon bucket, not a 1 gallon....
my suitemate tried last week and they said that it wasn't true and they wouldn't give him a keg for his thousands of tabs. He was in Plymouth, NH, by the way.
I fucking told you...in Spearfish, SD they seem to accept a 5 gallon bucket of tabs as worthy of a keg....being that it worked 3 fucking times....if you dont believe me, research it....
