ive been in CO for 6 days now and its been just pow pow and im so tired now anyone else have this problem when they go out west i went to sleep and 9!

Well, powder skiing isn't exactly easy. You are probabl just tired from the altitude and the tough physical exercise. I was in colorado last week and doing anything there was so tiring.

Elevation Change takes some people longer to get used to then others.

I had bad headaches every morning (not from all the booze)

And found myself a little short of breath and more fatigued then usual.

The best thing you can do is stay hydrated (use a camal back or i have a dakine pack with a bladder in it that i use) and keep lots of snacks in your pockets, just drinking water at lunch and at the end of the day is not enough.

If you want to rip hard and at 100% that's what i had to do.

You'll notice a difference.

Having a bag on your back doesn't really work if your skiing park, but anywhere else it's fine, and you'll get used to it.

yeah, like everyone else has said, probably the key to adjusting to altitude is keeping hydrated. along w/ that, make sure to eat often throughout the day. and there's nothing wrong w/ going to bed 'early.' my routine for out west: up early enough to be out when lifts open, ski all day, start drinking right when you get off the mountain, then by 10pm you've a day full of skiing and partying, and you can still get a full night's sleep. nothing wrong with that!

drink water!

colorado is sweet tho, when you first start drinking here, coming from a place like ny, you black out so easy, and when you drink beer you get the worst hangovers because of the altitude... then you get used to it, and when you come back to a place like ny 4 months later you can drink so much more. just thought id add that in there.
