They need to build that park up well enough that it distracts people on good skiing days. It would be sick to get faceshots on backside and then see a bunch of people sitting around in the park.

Why are you only allowed to ski pow at alta? What is stopping them from building a sick....what not sick, just somewhat decent terrain park?

For the people that ski alta everyday and arent park rats like yourself we would like to have a park thats somewhat decent on the off days.

 
This arguement is going nowhere. Here is all I can say. Alta's crew either isn't allowed, doesn't know how, or isn't willing to build a normal terrain park. Let's just leave it at that.

Haha thanks ken. I think its they arent willing too, they just want to piss kids off that come there. Same reason they dont want foot rests on the chairs, they like being pissing people off.

 
what about rails at least? i swear i saw a down flat down a long time ago. but i was probalby mistaken. rails are fun and if they had some tech rails i would be quite stoked. any word on the company who is building them? will they be out soon? its almost half season isnt it?

I've been told it's that they aren't allowed to. Apparently the sameowner/manager (not sure exactly), that pushed for the park is also worried about injuries. So basically they just want to say they have a park, but don't really want to make it big enough for serious skiers.

 
iv seen more gapers get fucked up on the traverses and shitty bump/chute runs there then any other place iv been to.

Hahah I saw some dude come flying down rest rustler a few days...just fucking maching, right into some small shrubbery. Double ejects cartwheels for a while then slides down to the very bottom of the trail. Most awesome thing ever, I just had to laugh.

 
Yeah, I'm not sure I buy the whole liability thing, it's just what I heard. In any case, I do think they just want to say they have a park, but not really put any effort into it.

 
i got messed up saturday coming down onto a cat-track. i was coming down off that traverse above albion lift and was going too fast and landed flat on a cat track from about 8 feet. i ended up cleanly breaking my humrus bone (it's that big bone by your biscep)and now i'm out for 8 weeks =(, this blows!! and im in so much pain right now, i need some more oxycotin damnit!

 
shitty luck man. Don't be afraid to ask for more pain pills. It's really the only good thing that comes out of a bad injury.

 
I was coming down from hiking to wolverine point, I had just skied down patsy-marley. I was maching on my way back to the resort in very flat light I flew off like a 5 foot ledge onto the cattrack going so fast it buckled me. And to make matters worse the cattrack had negative transition to it so I just stopped when I landed. My ankles hurt so bad and were tingling for the rest of the day im lucky I didnt break anything

One of the guys heading up the park is on this site under ibjibba, u guys should message this thread to him or something, Another problem with altas park is they are always having to rebuild it because when they get dumped on, which is pretty often, their rails get buried and their jumps vanish since they dont groom the park down when fresh snow falls

I actualy like alta's rails they are great for beginers who are just trying to get a feel for it, although its on such a flat slope that even if you slide them all perfectly you have to kick and pole push your way from rail to rail

usually they have the cat tracks marked, since the cat track is the boundary line,technically you were out of bounds coming from pasty marley, that is what the ski patrol told me when she was twisting your arm around... haha

hey would have to say all the alta park crew guys are fucking dick heads and major ponders. they suck my fucking dick and if i see them i am going to kick the fucking shit out of them for acting like they are good at what they do. im form ohio and we have hills that are super flat and we have 30 in of man made snow. alta gets 500 plus. what the fuck alta park crew can blow me. and about the rails being built the season is ending pretty soon i think the alta park crew is fucking gay and they people who make the rails know that so they just dont care cause they dont want to make rails for people who take it up the ass. im gong to fuck them up when i see them
