yeah today there were actually 2 boarders who walked into the ticket office for tickets and missed the sig non the door in big letters ' no snowboarders allowed. so they got told off inside, quite humorous. now that i think about it how do the monoskiers get around the traverses? and they are always drunk

Well, if Jibthis thinks that snowboarders can ride alta, They're welcome to try. I've always heard that boarders can enter from the top of Snowbird, but if you want to poach alta, you have to hike back to the bird. Not really worth it. Hope I can go one day. Alta would be sweet.

I was at alta right after new years and saw a boarder charge down from the top of baldy chutes and just rip through a group of skiers, knocking one down. I heard later he got escorted off the mtn. by ski patrol.

yeah I just got home from alta last night and it was pretty dope. Wednesday night we got about a foot and everything was awesome. Catherines was the best though (including the stuff next to it thats OB; none of the castles were open cause of the avalanche danger after the storm until friday. There was a huge ass line for devils castle saturday so I decided to get in before it got too be big at all with a nice long wait but it was so worth it, 6th one up.

I was there tuesday and it sucked, it was basically like skiing in new england with the clouds and cruddy snow. I did find some powder though, so it was all good. But, Should've went thursday after it snowed, Alta got something like a foot and PC got 6 inches.

It was a sick mountian though. Deffinalty one of the hardest places I've skied....certanly the hardest single black I've skied. I just wish I could've been there on a real powder day. And we met this guy who lives under Alf's and wakes up every morning at 2 am to fire up the grill then goes out skiing. ahh utah, good times.

Well my favorite part of no snowboarders at alta is the fact that there is a whole group of people excluded from the resort so its generally less packed in genereal than snowbird per say. But yeah snowboarders could easily access about 30% of the terrain the rest just wouldnt be worth it alta is the kind resort where you gotta do lots of hiking and traversing but it's totally worth it and in genereal its a different skiing experience than most resorts kind like half backcountry half ski resort.
