just looked on the alta website and they have announced that they will open their doors to snowboarders next season! about time!

 
they didnt allow snowboarders before? thats a little strange was there a reason for that? and thats cool that snowboarders can go theree now good stuff

no man it's true i talked to the manegment at alta today. they will be alowing snowboarders for the 2005-2006 season.

Snowboarding at Alta just wouldn't work. The high-T would be a bloodbath on pow days. The average snowboarder would get trampled on all the traverses around there.

Alta Ski Area is committed to preserving and protecting the above mentioned skiing experience. A "skiing emphasis" attempts to match the number of skiers with available facilities and terrain. Alta considers lift lines, weather and slope conditions, as well as the availability of parking, dining, restrooms and other guest services, when it evaluates the experience it offers its guests.

There may be times, especially during holiday periods, when Alta will limit the number of skiers in the area. When those infrequent occasions arise, the timing is usually mid-morning through early afternoon.

does it fucking matter? skiers didnt used to be allowed in parks, but now we are. snowboarders didnt used to be allowed at alta, but now they are. if you cant deal with that, you shouldnt be skiing, because you are to much of an immature pussy that sucks at life.

alta is straight up shitty for snowboarding.. i just dont think itd work very well.. like they said with all the traverses and shit.. itd be so much work.. especially on a pow day.

not to mention all the skiers there who would be on killing rampage it would be severly hasardous to your health if you were to snowboard at alta and all most all of the ski patrol would be trying to bury boarders in avys

the places that don't allow snowboarding are taos, alta, deer valley, and mad river glenn. I'm tired of people saying it's racist and crap. Snowboarders can go other places. People go to alta and taos for certain reasons and a business can deny snowboarders because that's what the customers want.

i have nothing against snowboarders, but it would kill alta if they were allowed in. plus, it would get soo much more crowded if snowboarders could go, cuz families with kids who snowboard would start coming, not to mention just regular snowboarders.

whoever said that thing about skiing alta on a powder day is absolutely correct. its so much better without having to watch your back for some little grom snowboarder. if alta opened its doors to snowboarders a) we would have to re-write Powderhounds Guide to Skiing Alta (I saw we cause my dad wrote it and i helped him re-write it these last few years) and b) PLEASE LET IT NOT.

dont get me wrong, i snowboard too. alot, actually. but fuck, alta is for skiers!

FUUUUCK, that would ruin all the beaaaautiful powder stashed there, I know the owner definitely wouldn't sell out to snowboarders unless they fell upon hard times, and even though the lodges do suck butcrack in comparison to snowbasin's olypic 5 star resort lodges, they would keep there honor, so Im calling a bullshit/i will crawl up in ball and cry

Alta is for pussies, whinning bitchs that are so full of themselves they think its right not to allow boarders. Anyone who thinks different is just part of the problem. I hope that Alta allows snowbboarding sometime soon, if they don't I may consider blowing the fucking place up.

Case and point look at Snowbird, aloows boards and the runs that have the vert that people want, the shitty snowboarders stay away from.
