Alta vs jackson hole

Which one is sicker and the criteria for judgment is amount of snowfall, occurance of heavy snowfall, extremness of terrain, access to other extreme terrain etc.

id prefer for peopel to respond who have skied both and can compare the two

Jackson is about 2-3 times bigger and with the new tram i really don't think there is a contest. Alta is SO sick but jackson you can stay in the city of jackson 7 miles away and be skiing in 10 mins vs driving 40 mins from SLC. They have similar terrain, but you're be getting alot more at jackson.
 
I agree, Jackson Hole is the sickest place Ive ever skiied. The bird is pretty fucking awesome too, but Jackson beats it imo~
 
imo alta is way better number one you don't have to deal with all the people that go to jackson and two the skier community at alta is super super chill and also access out of bounds from alta is pretty fucking awesome. imo though
 
I have skied snowbird and alta, but havent been to jackson. But as far as the criteria:

amount of snowfall: alta def wins

occurance of heavy snowfall: alta def wins

extremness of terrain: probably about the same, jackson def has more vertical though, and acreage, which equals more crazy cliffs and couloirs, etc

access to other extreme terrain etc: jackson backcountry is SICK. 

 
jackson has the most open and accessible backcountry in the country, im not 100% sure but i think its like a statistical fact
 
how many ns'ers would ventrue into jacksons back country.....its not like going to rocky point from alta....well maybe cody bowl is, thats about it.

JACKSON HAS A PARK ALTA DOESNT should be the NS comparison.
 
at Jackson, obviously you have more terrain thats pretty much righ there.

but alta, along with sick terrain and insanely good powder has the community chillax factor too.

it's laid back. and absolutely siiiiiick.
 
yea alta rules everyone go there, just this year. see how many people a day can funnel out of corkscrew. maybe it can get bumped out by 11am this year instead of noon.
 
Jackson is totally flat and never gets snow. Oh yeah, no backcountry whatsoever.

Alta wins, everybody go there! YEAH ZION!
 
Who goes to either for park skiing? If you want park go mammoth or PC, Jackson and Alta dominate in big mountain and pow
 
uh, PC for park? seriously? try breck or keystone.... and obviously mammoth
im pretty sure the only real reason to go to PC is to be dissapointed and then yelled at by some fag in a yellow jacket
