Alta Terrain Park

that is a super huge move for alta, and its fucking sick, if altas park gets big like they plan on it *check out the slc pc cult for info on it* a skier should never be over to snowbird, but ya there talking about having it the full length of the sunnyside lift, now that would be sick sick sick sick sick cuz well alta is the shit when the snow is good, now they will even be sick when the snow is not good.

OK i know people will disagree with me, but if you go to alta to ski in a park then you just have problems. who the fuck goes to alta to ski a terrain park? hell if you wanta be in a terrian park 24/7 why not just be a snowboarder or better yet just stick with skateboarding and forget snow because as so many of you fail to realize (even though you say you dont), there are way to many park rats that dont realize there is a natural terrian park that covers alta already and is more exciting then any man made terrian feature can ever be.

 
people probably wont go to alta just to ski the park there. Its not gonna be famour for its park like mammoth or whistler, but it will be a nice addition to all the great steeps and pow pow that they have. It also makes it so you don't have to pay the extra money for the ticket and go over to snowbird just to ski park.

plus at times like now when you don't want to ski the rest of the mountain cause it is played, then you can go chill in the park and work on that stuff, so the next time it snows you can take you new found tightness in the park out in to the rest of alta's natural terrain.

no seriously i think the bird has better terrain than alta. alta has cleaner cliffs but the lines you can find in snowbird just seem to get me juiced a little more, with the exception of alta's side of baldy. i don't know i just find bird a little more exciting because of LTD (when it's open), North Baldy, and taking tram runs on Cirque, Hot Shots, and even the Gad chutes. The only thing that I really look forward to at Alta anymore is hiking up Baldy or hitting the BC stuff. Don't get me wrong though. I still ski Alta 48.6% of the time though.

 
personaly I like the bird better. you can get in a lot of vert without having to hike cause of the tram. it gets tracked out faster, but if you know where to go it is fine. the patroll goes in a set order typlicly so you can really just follow them around the mtn to get good stuff all day. unless it is saturday. then it sucks on a pow day. so go backcountry.

I work in the terrain park at Alta and I know it's not the best. We all would really like to make some really unique and fun features, but we have so many restrictions with it being Alta and everything. They just don't know how to handle a terrain park. They want something the whole family can go through, not your avid park shredder. We will do what we can. We are pushing to get it as big as possible.

Does anyone actually read these?

alta's terrain is better. it's never crowded. and alta manages to get more snow than snowbird and the snow stays better longer!

i shoulda known better than to have faith taht alta would make a sick park, but its cool because i havent gone into the park once this year except for snowbirds a couple times, which is pretty fun.

Mmmmmmkay... I will whole heartedly disagree with anybody saying positive things about Alta's park. It is shameful. It's not even a step in the right direction.

I moved from Snowbird to Alta this year in hopes to step it up the gnar factor in my skiing (which i believe I have done) but one of the deciding factors to move up was because of the "sick new parK" they were gonna have. *sigh. I got duped.

I will be leaving Alta after this season.

We gonna whack it til the wheels fall off.

 
for anyone who says that alta shouldn't have a park is a doushbag...not everyday is a powder day, what about in the spring what are you going to do then? ski slush bumps you dumb fool? alta should have a super sick park to show off sick skiers.

 
the fact that alta has a park is sick....but i was there in the beginning of march and it wasnt impressive at all. It consisted of like 3 retarded jumps, a small spine, and 4 or 5 5 foot rails that were like 6 inches off the ground. If they made it better, it'd be sick, but the terrain there is already amazing.

Alta should have a park some times you don't want to ride big mountain, however their park is really weak it would be really nice if they just threw some shit in with the natural terrain like in catherines or something
