Alta terrain park

No Terrain Park at Alta this season

We found that our skiers were curious about the park, and had a lot of fun times jibbing. But we were also astonished by how many more of our skiers preferred to use the natural terrain features on our 2200 acres as their preferred “park.”

natural terrain features, none of which are found in the "former" location of alta's park. therefore replacing the park with a groomer.

Lame! not that it's the reason you get a pass at alta but common. talk about a step backwards.

who the fuck cares??? No one uses the terrain park at alta, so why have one, overall it is just going to add to the cost of lift tickets.

I honestly have never seen many people in the terrain park at alta and usually the park is empty.

Their terrain park sucked anyways.

But they should still hire a park crew and these guys should boost up some of the natural features, so that on powder days I don't have to waste time building something or kicking up a lip off a drop.

definetly a step backwards, sucks.

besides I liked being able to hit the rails and boxes when the snow was shitty...

although it wasn't much, atleast it was somethin

meh. incentve to buy alta/bird combo pass, as if there wasn't incentive enough already. park will return to alta. not in the 06-07 fiscal year, but it will be back.

it snows way to much for a TP at ALTA

+the hill it is on, has no shelter from the gnarly winds---- It loads like crazy on the sides of the rails and buries things in 4 hours. If they gave us a groomer off Supreme or something off Collins it would kind of work--- but why-???????????????

Alta park was sooo sick...those jibs were soo technical. I learned how to railslide in that park...nooooo RIP alta park...

fuck what? FUck that!? oh shit son that's it, after 6th grade algebra you and i, mr. spong, behind tennis courts, fight to the mutha fuckin death! ahah dude communal throwdown this weekend

if there is a park there should be snowboarding....

because we all know... but most skiers hate to admit....

SNOWBOARDING WAS THE ONLY THING THAT MADE SKIERS WANT TO SLIDE A RAIL OR HIT A BOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah your right. and maybe thats part of the reason they wont have a park at all. alta should open to snowboarders i think. it would make my life better, most of my friends ride, and i cant go to alta with them.

And most of my snowboarding friends know, but hate to admit, skiing was the only thing that made anyone want to slide down the snow upright at all.

This guy is the coolest... to admit that shit as a skier....

i mean what is the difference 1 plank or 2 ...

word up..... freeriding is freeriding....

no offense to jordan or hayden and whoever else involved, but the park was kind of a joke. given the right resources they could have put something well worth while together. but considering what it was, they had to put a fair amount of labor into it, assume liability, and not to mention dig the rails out everytime it snowed, which is all the time. i'm really not too hurt to see it go, but i was never hurt that it was there.

i've built a number of jumps at alta and have never been told i wasn't allowed to. i think they don't care at all as long as its not on a major run or high traffic area.
