just read on their site they are planning to open on friday with colins and sunnyside running. wouldve been sweet if they had sugarloaf going as well. but fuck it, ill be seeing whoever goes up on the hill!
 
ya i went up to get my pass today and its looking all right but alta is in much better shape then snowbird. So ya i will be up there this weekend
 
2nd.

hopefully the snow today and tomorrow will make it well. If it doesn't snow, I'll be at PC. talk shit Hennie.
 
Hennie werent you the one that just said in another thread that you are only going to ski the perfect days. conditions are going to be something short of perfect on friday
 
i have a wicked good rebuttal for kutcher, but itll just have to wait till were in person. im just stoked that alta is going to be open again...its finally here ! anyone else stoked on the snow outside ?
 
I finally got my new fatties..... maybe i'll have to come to Alta on Friday just to rip groomers reallly fast like.
 
If you want to mock down groomers all day, alta tomorrow is the place to be. If you want to mock groomers and jib, pc is your place to be.
 
haha... yeah.. they do, but I don't think those will be the conditions at Alta tomorrow. I wouldn't drop anything given the conditions. And Is Alta going to Rope off the groomers, or just let people go anywhere?
 
at our meeting ono said that there will be gates but its seeing as there is 0 base thats probably not the wisest idea... somebody bring shovels or jibs. peace
 
haha ok sorry about that comment, i've been outta town and heard we got 10 inches so i thought...

but theres a storm brewing today right?
 
just got down fro malta. i only took like 4 runs but they were wicked fun. there are some really fun spots and its only going to get way better from there. it was dumping when i left!
 
how was grizzly gulch lookin? im supposed to be up there tomorrow for my avalanche awareness class. monday it was bare. im doubting that its gonna be skiable.
 
I'm doubting you'll even be able to learn about avys there. Maybe mudslides.

But seriously.... There's not much snow at all... so digging a pit, etc. would be silly. And I'm so stoked it's dumping today. Wish I could rip Alta tomorrow. Ouch.
 
as long as you stick to the north facing slopes, they have been holding the best so far. Freds Trees were alright today, little bare but skiable. those little tree shoots under ballroom were also a nice surprise
 
rich, when exactly is the last time you were up at alta? doubt that its been in the past 2 days...shits definately starting to look better up there.
 
grizzly was bitchin. except for it was waaaay unstable snow. a bunch of slides. but deep awesome snow.
 
alta was amazing today I was pissed I brought my park skis cause the coverage was actually really good.
 
well true wildcat wasn't open, but you were still able to ski all the way across and hit the last bit of the Ho. Found freshies over there all day
