Alta and the bird in mid January

I already posted this in the ski gabber but figured I would give this a shot as well. Im going to Alta for 4 days and Snowbird for one in Mid January. Last year they had approx. 265 inches around that time. I was thinking I was going to be skiing deep snow and have awesome conditions, but now that I realize that some east coast resorts get that much snow, im a lil worried. Was i just having dillusions of grandure when i was thinking that I would be skiing sick pow and everything would be open and in pristine condition? I would change my plans and move them into mid fubruary or later but I already booked my flights and all. Locals or people who ski there all the time...should I be worried?

What makes East coast so icey and rediculous is water content, not snow totals. Snow is much dryer here, so much softer and fluffier. there's generally plenty of good snow by january so you should be fine.
