Saw them live at governors ball. Their entire album is on point and they are incredible live. Not my type of music really, but I'd recommend seeing them live to anyone
 
Saw them last winter and it was a sick show.

An Awesome Wave was the best album of 2012 in my opinion. They got their weird, soft sound from playing in their dorm at college in England.
 
saw them last night at Echo Beach toronto. siiiiick venue. its a man made beach in ontario place right beside the lake, and the toronto skyline is right behind the stage. about halfway through the show a lightning storm started and there was chain lightnening non stop all around the stage. it was sickthen it poured rain and we got fucking soaaaaaked
 
hell ya man I was at that show too! Ended up winning a contest on twitter and got to meet Alt-J before the show, which was crazy haha they are super nice dudes and were great to talk too.
 
bands like alt j and mgmt are confusing to me, they are pretty good, but their fanbase is just so annoying and fucking ruins the music with their hype and fandoms and all that junk. but like honestly there are like bands that are "indie" that are 10x better than this.
 
So they could be the best band playing the best music you've ever hear but the fans are annoying, so that means you don't like the music?

yeah seems like thats what hes saying. both you and the people youre talking about are annoying as hell, but if the music is good who gives an f what others think?
 
They sounded AMAZING last night. Awesome show. The band that opened for them was very good as well.

Yeah that is just one of the songs though and even that one does not make sense even if you already know what they are singing about, they are just halves of sentences but it is pretty cool though, don't get me wrong
 
how on earth did you get that from what i read. I like both mgmt and alt j but there are bands that are way better, but don't have as big of a fanbase, which confuses me. do you know how to read?
 
I fucking love alt-j. saw them live two weeks ago and they were amazing. Their lyrics are absurd, in kind of a good way even though they don't make much sense. Read the fitzpleasure lyrics. Weird as fuck but awesome

What the fuck is that guy saying? If I dont want to understand the vocals, ill just go back to listening to deathcore.
 
I think alt-j makes decent music. They don't deserve the amount of hype that they have received though.
 
They put on a good performance. Saw them at Osheaga this summer and I have to say I was pretty impressed. Really digging the song Taro right about nao
