Alright all you athiests

give me one good arguement why you think God, or anyother supernatural entity does not exist. and don't give me any bullshit like "its cool to not believe in god!" i want a strong arguement!

Because everything the earth is about has been proven by science, and the "fact" that the earth was created in 7 days 5000 years ago is totally disproven by fossils, and the early mesopotamian civilizations.

Do have any argument that could possibly prove otherwise?----and im not an atheist.

i can't 100% prove that he does or does not exist, neither can anyone, but how could the universe in all of its complexities come to be without a supernatural power of some sort? how can order come from chaos?

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? -- Then he is not omnipotent.

Is he able, but not willing? --Then he is malevolent.

Is he both able and willing? --Then whence cometh evil?

Is he neither able nor willing? -- Then why call him God?

the burden of proof is on you. theists already make the claim that god exists, when there is no empirical evidence. i don't have to prove anything.

so on the real, i don't believe in fairy tales.

and science can trace back to when the physical Earth was created, but what was there before that? something had to have created the particles and matter that formed the earth

adam and eve.. fair enough but noahs ark no.

it is actually an old sumarian story and babylonian tablets describe the story in much greater detail and it has been proven to be true... however it is by no means a christian story and has been aroud longer than even judeism. so its not a lie.. its just a story that the church adopted and made its own.

EVOLUTION.

And this world was not created in 7 days, it's taken millions of years for it to mature to it's present state. and the only reason it exists is a coincidental explosion of a blue giant (star 1000's of times bigger than our sun). when a blue giant explodes it creates enw solar systems and life forms.

because theres fucking dinosaur bones that are like 1,000,000 years old. and all the egyption pyramids and shit like that...face it dude, religion is a JOKE

im not denying the fact of evolution, im saying that something had to of created the original matter. maybe you should read before you post

lol proof the god soesnt exist come from deductive reasoning.

there is no evidence of god, therfor god does not exist.

but it is impossible to prove that god doesnt exist using anything other than deductive reasoning. so there is really nothing anybody can say to disprove god, only through the lack of evidence that can exist can you prove the god doesnt exist.

am i making any sense?

the arguement of not being able to see god therefore he doesnt exist, many things exist that we cant physically see, such as emotions and concience. so why do we believe that these are real if we cant see them? why cant the same philosophy be used for the existance of god?

Im a little curious as to why your calling out all the athiests? Im going to assume that you beleive in some sort of relgion, so why is it that you want us to explain why we dont beleive in "god" or some other higher power just because you want us to. Im also going to assume that no matter what anyone says you will continue to beleive so why is this nessesary? Does it re-assure you and make you feel better? I know im an athiest and always will be and i dont think i need to exlpain why i dont beleive in god, but hey if your into religion and all that, thats fine with me.. to each his own

i really honestly deep down believ that god does not exiast. I am a confirmed member of the ELCA lutheran church, so i am educated very well about god and jesus christ, so i am not talking out of my ass. I just dont think god exists. There is no proof pointing either direction that god does or does not exist but i think he does not. i dont want to get in a big "post battle" so im just gonna say this: god created humans, but humans created god.

im not trying to prove anyone "wrong" because none of us know for sure, but i want to have a discussion about why i could be wrong about god's existance

there was this thing called the big bang incase u havnt herd..it sent all this shit flying around(astroids and stuff) and gas and ice and everything. so then all this gas and ice and rocks are flying around running into eachother. cause them to comtogether and make a bigger ball. and more and more kept coming and then gasses were just there ya know...so then while all this shit is flying into our planet, its creating steam from the heat. making our atmoshphere, so then it starts to rain and fill the valleys and whole and all the stuff that will hold water up so pretty soon u have a pond and a ocean and then wat do u know!!u have organisms. then from there the organisms move from water to land and i think u can figure the rest out

scientists have recently (i know this sounds convenient, but look it up to confirm it) been able to create minute components of organisms.

hes just curios why we believe what we do. If someone believed that aliens had taken over Bush's brain, wouldnt you want to know why?

i beleive in god because even if u say that the earth was created from other shit, and chemicals and shit... something had to create those chemicals... god.

then your arguement doensnt hold water. besides the big bang is a theory just like the theory that god exists, and it does not seem too logical to say i'm spewing bullshit when you believe in a theory that life came from an exploding minute particle

nobody knows, however Alber Einstein has some really strong evidence that there was a "big bang". He was able to calculate that everything in the universe (that man knows of) is all drifting away from one single point. and at one time, it is logical to assume if we retrace the path that all planets and stars have taken, all of the universe started out at one single highly condenced point.

Are you arguing that god is the only possible answer? Or are you just saying it is a possibility and its the one you chose to beleive?

im not arguing that god is the only possible answer even though i have decided that it is, i just want to hear others opinion about how the universe came to be without a supernatural power.

yes but the earth is hardly 5 billion years old. the universe is over 20 billion years old, how do they know this? because they can look at bodies such as other galaxies.. use basic trigonomitry from a grade 10 math course, and look at the rate at which it is expanding and then inverse the equation to look at how long it would have taken to be shrunk into basically 0.

now who are you? i am very curious because this is the first time i have ever seen anyone try and preach religion without providing some sort of example of how god has touched your life, or how evolution is impossible. or maybe you are smart enough to not bother bringing something as scientifically proven as evolution into it.

how does order come from chaos? well looking at formulai like E=MC^2 energy is basically mass, despite the fact it takes up no room, this allows the explaination as to how a seemingly infinite amount of energy could be present in an area taking up basically 0 space. now as this energy realeased, photons joined into larger particles like quarks, which joined into neutrinos and other quantum particles, and eventually into subatomic particles like electrons neutrons and protons. then the most basic element hydrogen is formed... hydrogen is still the most common element in the universe because every star is basically made up of hydrogen, in stars this hydrogen slowly fuses into helium, then slowly a hydrogen fuses to the helium to create lithium.. etc. etc. etc. eventually there is a large number of elements, eventually everything cools down and there arent photons flying everywhere because large enough particles create gravitational fields, and stars are made. then stars burn out leaving only the heavier elements that were created as explained earlier. then these start to form planets, and solid bodies throughout the universe.. eventually solarsystems and galaxies are formed. then in a random circumstance on a little piece of rock we now call earth, a few random molecules joined into each other and after a series of random interactions with the environment the first bacteria came into existance, then through things such as the endosymbiotic theory eukaryotic cells came into being which grew in groups... and many bacteria if you have ever dealt with them in a lab, have the ability to absorb DNA and make it thier own. this happened more and more untill eventually different bacteria would interact with each other each performing different tasks, as these groupings became more advanced they began to make solid forms, et voila, the first plant life. this continued for another few billion years and then we came about, and this will continue to do so for another long while.

i didnt go into that much detail but hopefully that sums up order coming out of chaos.

cheers.

well there is your answer. we think that there is more possibilities than god, and we dont this god is the best guess, thats why we dont belive in god

good god. here we go:

this is not necessarily what i believe.. at the moment i am agnostic but here is why many theorists/scientists dont believe in god

according to the information laws, every piece of information requires a sender. when i say information i mean DNA or cells. every piece of living matter contains information. cells that tell us how it functions. as i said, every piece of information requires a sender, since the sender (God) can not be investigated by humans, scientists believe He does not exist. The Sender, Creator, is claimed to be responsible for everything, without exception, as it says in the first verses of John's Gospel and in Colossians 1:16 "For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulesr or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him." Now, clearly we have some 'evidence' and some information that God did indeed exist and this information is enough for many people to believe He exists. But the Bible also gives us lots of useless information....that really doesnt help us decide what to believe in at all. nor does it inform us. for example:

"useless" information in the bible can be divided into two parts..indifferent information is the parts of the bible that tell u to be truthful etc. the injurious are the ones that tell u not to sin or else there will be consequences. i.e. "but i tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every carless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned"-Matthew 12:36-37...from a skeptic's point of view, all of such words are useless because they give us no information about God himself. Since much of the Bible contains this type of "information" skeptics are not persuaded. (skeptics that read up on religion that is) The old testament, however, is something skeptics are little more lenient with. God gives advice in the old testament, "Do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth, meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. then you will be prosperous and succesfful"-Joshua 1:8.

but as for me...i am not necessarily a fan of religion because i do not like lines in the bible and or new testament such as these: "Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in all the ways I command you, that it may go well with you" -jeremiah 7:23. i dont like that. that's disturbing to me.I honestly feel like most religions are simply training programs of behaviour. Instead of finding faith people are finding a routine of life and decisions that are made for them without their knowledge. they think they've made these decisions, but had God not said they wuld be punished for those decisions, would they still refrain from making them? personal morality and religion should be seperate. as should the law and other things as such.

im agnostic. it means that i do not not believe in god, nor do i not believe in god, i believe that it can not be fully grasped or ever understood

for everyone who doesnt believe in god, what do you think the purpose of life is? where do we go when we die?
