Alpine Valley Update

to add to my bros post above, tha whale tail is mch more mellow now, the handrails are still up along with the pole jib and flat bar.

o nicee the jump on shelter sounds good cant wait...and so u can only get on from the side on the long down box on shelter?  i cant wait im going on saturday.

yea i dont know why they make theirs so high...I tried doing some switch stuff off their last jump and totally ate it on the jump because the lip was so frickin high... whatever happened to their slopestyle course on broadway...I remember that a couple of years ago and it was sick it started off with a down rail and they had like 3 or 4 jumps in a row that you could hit in one run...those were the good old days

oh they arent that bad. you probably wont like the first jump on shelter then. the lip is really tall and pops your pretty good and high. its more like a step down. the second jump you might like. its really mellow lip. all the rails on shelter are good except the stupid groomer broke the flat-down rail so the hand to make it into a flatdownflat and it pretty much sucks

sounds pretty good. so is there still a jump or two on mohawk...anyway what r the high season rates. it says on their website about it going into effect 12/7 to 1/05. so how does it cost for a lift ticket?

yeah there is still the hip and the last jump. and the down box is just a regular take off like it was last time. its not side take off like they said it was going to be. i just looked on their website and its 41 from 9-530 or 3-11. or its 50 for an all day pass

had to take advantage of the snow... and the tranny on that first hit was crazy. felt like trying to jump out of a quater pipe. the bottom hit was nice but looked like it was still a work in progress.

rails were great, no complaints.

More Wedge style jumps...

was there today, pretty sick besides freezing my ass off. I even enjoyed the mellow park with the flat bars, nice to hit a bunch of stuff in a row

was looking to go to wilmot today but the park doesn't seem to be open. so my question is, is there a deal for lift tickets on tuesday. i heard it is buy a lift ticket get a lift ticket free. is that true. i guess i'll just call them but was looking for an NSer's answer because it's normally quick. and what is the park looking like.

park is awesome two handrails in mohawk those are the only fun thing in that park, but also there is a whale tail, butter box, pole jib, flat box and flat bar, and a small jump in mohwak. in shelter which is the good park, there is a battleship, flat bar, long flat box, a 30-35 foot jump, set up like a CO style jump, a jump at the top about 15-20 feet. and i heard there might be another jump, i dont know, and they might of set up the c box, and hopefully the FD rail. but thats the park.

and as for the tuesday deal they have tremendous tuesdays, but im not totally sure. i could get you in for like 15-20 after i get to school or my brother could. but call em up.

sounds like you might have to. the park i guess was really good yesterday once they redid some of it. but i didnt get to go cause i left my boots out side and didnt know it. so they were rock hard full of ice

both parks are real sick. i'm def. going back some other time. tuesdays are 2 for 39 bucks so it's a great deal.

i dunno, the two big jumps they had 3 years ago were bomber, that gap jump, then the 50 foot step down. sooooo fun

Well we did have to work a little magic with the head of patrol and ski school, but iin the end it worked out pretty good.

thinking of heading up there some time this week just wondering how or if theres a jump line yet went to cascade this past saturday and was pretty disappointed. Oh and any chance of some pictures?!?

they have 2 jumps. one is really good one is ok. the last jump is around 30+

and the rails are really nice

CURRENTLY THEY ARE PLANNING ON MAKING A LINE OF BMX STLYE JUMPS. THESE COULD BE SUPER SICK.

that sounds really fun if they keep them maintained. but i don't think that should be a problem from what I saw when i was there.
also, if you don't mind me asking what run would they be on.

i heard they were tlaking about having them on the same run where the butter box was. but im really not too sure. and yeah they would be well maintained

are you talking about after the butter box or above it. i don't know if there is enough slope for jumps after the box. but if they were before it on skiers left side of that run then yeah that would be awesome. that butter box is so fun and to be able to hit jumps before that would be stellar.

if you want to see what alpine looks like and what they have set up you can see most of the rails and the jumps in the movie my brother made of me and posted on here.

Alpines setup is pretty sick this year i would have to say... although today I saw some racer guy come up to the last jump they had setup in like "perfect" form with almost no speed and he just goes off lands flat and eats shit, all i could think of was Scott Vail ...I just wish there wasnt so many gapers/people who dont belong in the park there, i got cut off so many times

its all confusing now.
ohhh im going to try and take some pics tom, and the stuff that us currently up.

Pictures would be great so i know what to copy and build at wilmot. J/K thats sweet you guys have a sick park too this year

rails on shleter are all on tables.
handrails are hikeable.
last flat bar on shelter is hikeable.
most of the rails/boxes on mohwak are too.

i don't think they want to part ways with it yet since it was just put out a couple weeks ago. that would be sweet half off. No fulltime park crew. So shit is always fucked up on the weekend. The "Park Manager" is there All the time.

dammmit! haha
and yeah we have full time park crew. at least 2+ people are there all day everyday, always grooming lips and making it look pretty. and the park gets groomed sat and sunday nights at 530, and groomed almost everyday during the week

that would be nice hopefuly next year wilmot can get something started like that. good thing Alpine closes for grooming. as busy as wilmot gets it would be nuts trying to groom the park in afternoon on the weekend
