SATURDAY FEB.16: RAIL CONTEST - 10am Registration 12pm Skiers;1:30pm Boarders.

SUNDAY FEB.17: BIG AIR COMPETITION ($10.00 FEE) Noon Registration; 1pm Competition Starts.

Dont know much else about it other than the jump is supposed to be big (Who knows what thats supposed to mean)

Yeah it's Alpine Valley in Ohio..........I heard the number 40 being thrown out there (Nate), but I doubt it. I wouldn't advertise it because we all know it's Alpine, but it should be fun.

Yeah?

I don't think a 40 footer could even fit on the tow rope hill where the competition jump usual is. Speed would be an issue. I'll let everyone know what it is like tomorrow if they started pushing the pile of snow for it. They were making a mound of snow Monday, the last time I was at Alpine. Nate, what's the comp. jump going to be like?

do we even have enough snow to make a 40 ft jump? ppl had a hard time with the 25 ft one they had last year or the year before. i forgot. but it was tiny

Hey guys, the rails are now set up. The course starts with a drop in. The first set of rails you can choose from are:

A Frame or Urban Down

Next:

Small Flat or Battleship

Last:

DFD Box (UFU? (it's barely kinded)

The jump isn't even close to being done, but to be honest it doesn't look to great so far. Deffinately not going to be huge. We'll see Sunday I guess. I hope it doesn't rain all day.

Small

u kno if i was druck id pukew on all u yhe jump is gunna be offf the chizzy for reizzy my nizzy chea chea fuck the pine g's up hoes down

the big air was cancled becuase of weather but i did the rail jam and got first wiht a sw 2 disaster on a dfd box and a 270 on 270 off on this urban set up

The jump was "good" for Alpine Valley standards. Then after we do a ton of shoveling and get it done, it gets knocked down because insurance. The comp is now Saturday, February 23rd.

okay so i live down near columbus and ski at mad river but my girlfriend lives up there...goes to NDCL. she lives like 5 minutes from alpine...we got a winter homecoming this saturday but i really wanna check out this comp...do you know what time it will be and stuff??? and is it worth showin up for?

www.alpinevalleyohio.com

I used to go to NDCL and you can see Alpine from the school. Alpine is very small and shitty. I love it though. The comp. isn't really worth much effort to get to, but if you are in the area maybe it is. The jump got torn down and I haven't been there since Monday, but I might go tonight. The jumps are never properly built, but they are fun.

cool dude yeah well im headin up to newbury tomorow after school!! haha thats where she lives so yeah man ill prolly show up! my names danny messmer..whats yours?? you should go dude we could ride together durin the comp

I went to Alpine for a little tonight. The table hasn't even been shaped yet. I'm not sure what to expect out of this jump.

My names Steve, but I snowboard. What outerwear do you have?

Don't get your hopes up though. I don't know if you have ever been to Alpine Valley, but it's really ghetto. Mad River, Snow Trails, and BMBW are sooo much nicer. I just love Alpine and it's close.

alright man so im bringin the skis so ill be there tomorrow. do you know what time it starts? ill be wearin brown pants, baby blue coat, grey helmet with oakley goggles....pearlwhite frame with silver refelctive lense. look for me!

The landing is flat. The big side is a 30' Gap. That's what they said. They said they would fix the landing tonight, but I don't see how. There's no way they can make a landing on that table. It's basically landing on flat after going 30 feet. So many kids are going to die on this jump.

so the comp was okay...landings sucked the lips werent too bad. there were only 2 skiers in my age group so they grouped us with some boarders. i threw a 5 with tail grab and wasnt worried about 1st than when the posted the scores i got second....kinda pissed considering the kid who got first threw a 180. i should of expected this tho because the judges were obvioulsey snowboarders and they had no idea about skiing because if they did they would of never grouped us together. all in all it was pretty upsetting to throw down and the judges just shit on you and give sum kid 1st who didnt really deserve it.

You got second? You were killing it for how shitty the landing was. Dan (the kid with the white helmet and white coat with brown pants) got second.....he threw a 5 Octo on the big jump. The kid who beat him did a 3 on the small jump.......

Yea i was there watchin, ( I was the gimp with the crutches) you stomped that 5 out but all the judges could talk about was the old dude that did the huge old school tricks. I was standing right next to them when the snowboarder who won went and they were like, " That was some serious amplitude". I was like yea his 5 was way bigger though.

They were boarders and thats it.

Nice 5 by the way.

No, I'm talking about the other Dan. The younger dan got cheated and so did the older one. The younger one threw a 5 (and some kind of grab....not an octo i guess) and lost to a kid who did shitty 3's over the small jump.

The older dan with the blue coat (from mad river) lost to a 180 by chris hanford I think because he was put in the snowboarders group.

thanks bro. i mean if you saw my second hit...spread eagle to cross lol you could tell i thought the 5 was enough but i guess the judges thought other so. they funniest part is before the comp i was down near the judges and they told me the were combining my age group with the skiers and boarders and i was kinda arguing it explaining how much more technical skiing is and some lady stands up and said "These are professional judges, they can handle it!" and i just skied away shaking my head haha so yeah its all good. it was my frist time at alpine and excluding the judges i really liked the atmosphere and most of the guys there were pretty cool!

yea, the judges were from bmills and they had their big air the same day so they obviously had the better judges there. i thought you had it in the bag no matter what, but i guess i was wrong. Some big air comp....all of an hour long.
