Second Answer: Don't blame the messenger, but the sun came out, visibility was perfect, and upper mountain traverses opened at about 2:45 today. No worries, though, most people were pretty cooked by that late hour and there's still lots of fresh snow left over. It'll be there tomorrow!
Dude that was insane. I rode down the cat track from Summit and saw the green signs and almost had a heart attack. Seriously, the snow in the upper bowls came up to my chest, it was soo light. They had the traverse closed on Sunday again while some new snow filled in what had been tracked out. All you people going there on Monday will find yourseves pissing your pants if they open it.
hell ya, after saturday i woke up sunday and could hardly move...guess thats from chasing lenz around all day, the snow was so fun though, deep and light. i can't imagine how it can get any deeper then that.
