Alpine Meadows & Homewood have new $299 season pass for college students

Alpine Meadows and Homewood have a new season pass for college students. It is $299 and valid every day during winter 2009/2010, except holidays (holiday blackout days are December 26, 2009 – January 2, 2010; January 16 & 17; and February 13 & 14).

The College Pass will be on sale at skialpine.com from July 1 to November 1 and offered to college students carrying at least nine credits or units, regardless of age.

Students will need to show a photo I.D. and college transcript when picking up their purchased season pass. If you have any questions, call 530-582-6083, which is Alpine/Homewood sales.

 
man this is going to piss quite a few people off. first alpine says fuck you to all young adults then tries to come out with something like this only after they realize that you can't do that in order to compete with other resorts... but two years later? fuck that. I hope no one buys this pass
 
Seriously... everyone over 18 or 19 was completely screwed off when they did that. I was ENTHRALLED and in fact boycotted what are two of my favourite resorts because of that...

They should have realized it 2 years ago befor ethe season started when we all complained EN MASSE to them...

 
I hope Squaw offers their college pass again. Alpine really fucked us all on that one, now its only right that we say fuck you back.
 
better question is will they even have a park next year and will Jonahs be there to build it?
 
dude if hes not there to build the park i am never going back there in my life, the have fucked us all over and if they dont have a dope park im a just gonna go to boreal now cause they hook it up with the college pass
 
Not sure yet. I should be going in to get the lowdown next week. I do know that the GM is gone. What changes will happen, remains to be seen.

I'll let you know as soon as I know. The new(reborn) passes are a step in the right direction.
 
Jonahs! any word on where you'll be this coming season? im thinking about buying the alpine college pass but if you won't be there it won't be worth it.
 
Alpine realized their mistake and are fixing it. This year is lookin legit though, they are catering to youth again. Theyre building a multi use building at the bottom of kangaroo, huge park expansion (top to bottom), and bending over backwards for college groups. So stoked on this year at Alpine.

And it'll be better than skiing with the 50,000+ new passholders at Squaw
 
sounds like yall are dealing with the same issues at squaw that we are in Vail when the EPIC pass made Vail unlimited

Jonahs you build the best jumps in the area hands down and that combined with a good place for pow days and a cheap pass... sounds like a great season. but i want to know if you will actually be at alpine still before i get my pass.
also, this top to bottom park business has been supposedly going to go down for about 3 years now, possibly longer, and have only resulted in a handful of features that started below mid mountain. How legitimate are these claims this time and if they ARE legitimate then what do you plan on putting on the upper part of the mtn?
 
Details are sketchy at best right now. Once we get them nailed down, I will let you guys know. It should be within a couple weeks. We will get something hammered out before the prices go up.
