Alpha 1's VS Chronics!

So after further nvestigation, I am left with two options, chronics or Alpha 1's. Which would you go with for 70% park 30% eastern ski? I am 6 foor 130 lbs, and I primarily do jumps but some rails. My shop says everyone likes the chronics but i'm a bit skeptical. Also which ones are stiffer? Thanks guys!

+K fo rgood replys :D

go for the alpha 1s! i really like mine, they are stiffer than the Chronics and will probably be better on jumps, they are also lighter and just feel more lively than the Chronics, the alphas kill it on jumps and rails and can still rock some nice turns on the groomers, and armada definitely has better durability than line....i have rode both so i have a good feel on how they compare

rockered ski will feel softer regardless unless it's unreasonably stiff. plus the full cambered chronics will have more contact surface, next years are rockered. people i know with chronics love those, and bought a second set. durability is fine, i still know people with the orange chronics.

Really this. Great ski, i love mine. The one thing that does turn people away is the race base. It requires a lot of maintenance compared to other park skis. I need to wax mine almost every time i ski on them, because the base dries up quick.

I also rode my brother's Chronics a few times, and they are also a good ski, can't go wrong with either of them, i just prefer the Alphas.

i have only waxed mine once the whole time i have had them, i probably should have waxed them more, but i didnt find any problems

Awesome! i can get a pretty sweet deal on both but i think I'll go with the Alpha's, besides, I like the graphics on them a bit better. Thanks for the advice guys :D

I skied on some chronics for a bit the other day and the were just so much fun. The flex felt great no to stiff not to soft I could butter these skis fine and they felt stable on my landings. They had a lot of pop which just made them so playful and fun to ski on. I felt like I could hit anything with these on

Alpha 1's are a great pair of ski. One of my friends has a pair of them and he loved them. The rocker is a bit weird to get used to at first, because the skis feel shorter than they look when you ride on them, but it's not a problem after a few days of riding.

On the other hand... I'm not sure how you can be skeptical of Chronics. I have an 09/10 pair of Line Chronics and I absolutely love them. I feel like 09/10 was the best year for the Chronic, because there was a choice of either choosing the thinner waist of the wider waist. Now, they only make the Chronic wide, which is ass if you don't like wide skis. Another thing that makes the Chronics so good is that they're extremely durable.

I've had my Chronics for 3 seasons now and I can't complain. I also ski park like 90% and trails 10%. I think the Chronics are actually a great all mountain ski, they only conditions it could perform better in is choppy snow, but then again, how often are you skiing in shitty choppy snow? Probably not a whole lot, but maybe sometimes if you're from the east coast like me haha! Only damage done to them is a few edge cracks and some top sheet chipping, but that's normal if you ski park on the same pair of skis for more than a season. I'm getting new skis next season and I was actually looking into Armada AR7s, because I feel like that's Armadas best offer for a durable ski that's similar to the flex pattern and shape of the Chronic.

Oooooo really tough choice OP. I've heard such good things about both skis. I went with the Chronics cause I ended up getting the 2009 models for free. I've never had such a great ski. Its amazing for jumps, and OK for jibs. Chronics are not too stiff, also not too soft. I can still butter on them with ease.

I would get whatever your heart desires OP. Line skis are also very durable.
