Hey guys, so I was wondering how good the alpha 1's are this year. I've read that most people loved the ones form previous years, but I'm not sure about the 2012's. I'm 6'0 130 don't make fun i'm young XD I would primarily use them in the park and then as your average eastern ski a little bit. I can get a sweet deal on them form my shop for the 176's (or 175's not sure). I know that's short but i like short skis so don't worry. Also, how would they compare to the Ace of Spades, and which would you pick.

Thanks a ton guys

Well I love mine so much. They are a little different bc they have armadas park rocker and the ace of spades are true camber. They are a really great ski tho. I can't even say how much I love them. Really good on jumps and pretty good on rails too. Hope this helps.

My Alphas were not fun at all, but they were a good ski. Not my preference at all, I switched to Rossignol Scimitars and I love having a bigger ski just so much more. That said I would prefer Ace Of Spades, I hear they're bulletproof.

Thanks a ton for your help guys! How would they compare to the chronics as a park/eastern ski and what are their advantages/disadvantages?

I skied the Chronics for one run and they felt like your average cambered park ski.

No matter what ski you go with, it's going to come down to whether or not you want rocker. Some will claim rocker makes it harder to catch your tips on rails and jumps. I don't find this personally, and camber is far better for carving/general skiing. Little bit of rocker is amazing on pow days if you have no other skis though

Thanks for the reply man! just one question, are the Alpha 1's full rockered, or do they have some type of combo with early rise and camber?

Camber underfoot, rockered tips. At least the 2010s are, I'm 95% sure they haven't changed but the Armada website should have the answer for sure.

having skied both the alphas and the ass of aids, I would and am totally going to switch back to the aces.

I don't like the alphas at all. They have no tip on them so you can't nollie without your tips digging into the snow sending you into a front flip. Add their ridiculously skinny tail and disproportionate amounts of tip and tail rocker and it's a weird ski.

the aces on the other hand are everything I look for in a ski. so much fun.
