I got arv's never mounted or skied so im thinking i ski 70% park or 60% park and 30% pow. So i like the width on the ARV and the softness on my 07/08 ARV but like the rockered on the alpha and like the butterness on the alpha and shit. I want a good ski for great in the park and real nice booterage and floatage for powder. How much rocker is on the Alpha?

13, 100lbs about 5'1"

ARV 165

oops ARV 165 120-89-109

Alpha 1 170 94-111-81-100-85

the demensions on the alpha are hella weird so im not sure about em.

haha yeah the elf shoe things pretty hard to get your head around. It sounds like you're asking whether you should sell/trade your ARV for the Alpha 1s, but I'd say stick with the ARV. To me taking the elf shoe thing to a park ski seems like more of a gimmick to sell units, and you won't really be able to know how they really ride for awhile until people that don't have connections to Armada have bought and ridden them. So yeah I'd say stick with the ARV, especially considering you like them already, and they sound like a good ski for you.

putting elf shoe in a park ski is not a gimmick its the beggining of a trend look at the moment reno rocker thats a park ski with reverse camber, elf shoe is a armada camber that is reverse in the tips and tails more ski company's are creating narrower skis with reverse or "elf shoe" camber technologies and this season it looks like almost every snowboarding comapny has put in a "park rocker" in at least 1 of thier freestyle boards. so last but not least elf shoe or what ever you call it is not a gimmick

isnt elf shoe just a different name for prajekts dual camber idea?

anyway the ideas cool but the ski is way too ugly.

so its like yes or no.. sell the arv's and get alpha's? like does the elf shoe mean rockered? i like then just wish they were wider or something.

im 5'2" im 13, the rockers are like 181..... the biggest i want to go would be like 173 the 165 are already taller than me.

Elf shoe is not the same as reverse camber or rocker or early rise. It is how the ski gets wider like a normal ski right after the binding, then narrows at the tip and tails, it is a 5 dimension ski. I think all the skis that have this have some sort of reverse camber, but I cant think of another company besides armada has a 5 dimension ski.

sorry for dub post, but to the thread creater i wouldnt get alpha 1s unless you have already tried a rockered ski in the park and like it. Because elf shoe is even different than that.
