Yeah, patrollers are for inbound runs only, it really isn't their responsibility at all to monitor BC at all.
That aside, the Alpental patrol, at least to me and Kevin, seem FAR more qualified at their job then the rejects at Central/Hyak/West. Few weeks ago, we were trying to help a kid that had slid too far down near a cliff over in the bowl, patroller came, he was nice, very helpful, not an idiot/dick.
In contrast, at West when Chris broke his tooth out on the box and I was filling out his injury report form in the patrol hut, the patroller did not know where or what the "Terrain Park" was, nor was he aware there was any kind of competition going on that day. Similarly, when Kevin broke his collar bone at the park at Central last year (or was it a year before that?) same thing, the patrollers in the hut didn't know where the terrain park was, I had to show them on a map from like the 60s they have there, and I knew more first aid then they did.
I'm glad I ski with Kevin, he has more formal first aid training than the patrollers there.
