heres the deal: I had a pair of 08 dumonts 176 and they were by far my favorite park ski ive ever ridden. but the edges fell apart.

Edge durabilityMy friend and i have gone through a total of three pairs of dumonts due to ripping out and blowing up edges in less than a year...
Solution: I'm looking for a ski as close to the 08 Dumont, but with better durability. The list of Likes is what i want/need in a park ski

if it werent for the edges, the 08 dumont would in m.o. be the best park ski created to date. Hate it or love it, thats my opinion.
 
i was thinking that, til i heard about how all the problems in durability salomon has had this season/year
 
i woud go with anthemssuper soft, but you can still hit big jumps on themreal wide under waste so then jumps are also good on jumps because of the wider platform.realllllllly good on rails
 
Liberty's would probably be good.

Maybe extremes.

I have disorderlys and those are good too. They're pretty soft, i have 159 which actually measure like 164, and i'm like 5' 5" and 120lbs. The topsheet chips a lot but my edges and bases are in such good condition, all i do is rails. they hold up good on jumps too.
 
if you like the price, then antidogmas would be sick.

but otherwise, line anthems or invaders are exactly what you are looking for.

plus you can get last years for about 180-250, depending on which model.

 
ha i love when people suggest invaders.

Punx are sick, precision buttering control, tough, light, the perfect park skis.
 
Deff. go with either the Invaders or Anthems. Get the anthems if your doing bigger jumps. The invaders will hold on those 20 footers but anything higher i would jump for the anthems.. I'd buy them now, since the prices are GREAT as of now!
 
i got anthems this season and love them. They are like 93 underwasit which is sick. Really fun ski for presses and butters. Also sick for rails and great for jumps. Also looked at the urban punx at a ski shop and they looked pretty flexy and could probably take a beeting with all the extra like base and edge durability underfoot
 
yeh, i have heard (do not quote me, never ridden them) and been told by salomon (i work at a ski shop) that the Dumont ski is super stiff. This is for obvious reasons (pipe).
 
are the punx and antidogmas close in price? the Punx seem like theyd be real durable with the plates on the bottom along with the antidogmas
 
i've seen tons of 173 punx's on ebay for under 200, haven't seen many larger. Punx are a quality ski, ha these dumbass still going on about invaders and anthems, punx are in a different league.
 
ive been looking at punx and urban punx, but i dont really understand the differences...ive tried searchbaring to no avail.
new question: whats the difference between punx and urban punx? compare.
 
really interested in the antidogma's also, anyone think they can help me find a pair for $300 or less? ill obviously be on the look out, but the more sets of eyes, the better
 
Try looking into AR6s. I have not ridden the Dumonts for this year, but I flexed them in my shop and took a good look at them, and they are extremely similar to my AR6s. Both come in a 176 (my length), both have a stiff-ish flex, both have lots of pop, both have vertical sidewalls, and both are about 86mm wide. In terms of durability, I have had my AR6s for almost three seasons now and, although I live in Phoenix and get 40 days a year, I have minimal crackage and absolutely no delaming. Only damage to the ski is cosmetic damage on the topsheet, but that's a given.
 
the urban punx have a double edge so there super strong rail skis. the punx have a bigger side cut and are a little softer than the urbans. i would go with the punx. atomic makes a super strong, light ski. they are pretty narrow though. i think like 84 underfoot and 110 at front. dont quote me though cuz im not sure
