Just wanna let yall know that Kye Peterson (70.2) placed 3rd in his heat of 26 people and advanced to 1 of 25 people out of 250 to ski in US open seimifinals... he almost tied in score with Liam Downey (70.8) who was in a different heat and did not qualify. And props to another whistler loc, TJ SCHILLER who scored 84, the highest scorring qualifier. Props!

he went natural on every rail, and did two stock 360s, not corked, nothing at all, just plain.

that plain run beat sickkid13's run of clean rails includin a bs 270 off the high rail to a bio 7 to cork 9.

and dylan hoods run, who cleaned every rail, including bs 450ed off the rail. Then went cork 7 to cork 5, and he didnt get close either

I crashed and couldnt take my second run, but i am sure no matter what i did Kye would of beat me because he is Kye Peterson.

For time reason heat 3,4,5 didnt have a warmup run, Kye got to slip the course and straight hit the jumps, NO BODY else did. So everybody else overshot or undershot, and kye was fine because he got to check the course.

That whole kye situation was the only drawback of a sweet comp.

o yea, i will admit that i am really pissed that i crashed and screwed my knee up and didnt get in, and if i would of stuck my run i would of been close to getting in, but dylan and andrew DESERVED to be in, and Kye DIDNT!

yep your boy got in, he did two 360s, and slid the rails straight. But yea definatley those straight 3s were soo much better than my friends bio 7 to cork 9. straight 3s are so much harder. your boy definatley deserves it...

i saw sean's run, it was a lot better than kye's he did a 7 and grabbed, and i am not 100% sure, but i think he went unatty onto a rail which was cool. he deserved the 68. Kye deserved a 45. the jumps were mandatory to hit, no rail options (well actually they werent for kye, on his last run he skipped the bottom jump and just skied around it, and stil got a score in the mid 50s...) anyway, i saw many switch 9s, and 1 swtich 10. most runs went 3 to cork 7, or 5 to switch something... some guys went like cork 9 to switch cork 9. Corey Vanular was doing 450 disasters onto the flat down rail... it was insane... dont know if he ever landed it...

o, pep and turpin, judges, would give more points for a stuck cork 5 than a sketchy switch 1080... i liked that style was a major judging key...

^ Maybe that's why Kye did so well. That kid is sleezy! I didn't see any of the runs, but I think they should be judged on style, not tech... If your friend threw a sketchy bio 7 or whatever then why shouldn't a clean 3 beat it?
