randy rhoads, tony iommi, adrian smith, jimmy page, jimi hendrix i mean theres a fuckload of sick guitarists past and present and theyre all different and great in their own way so i dont really think there is a "best"
Well, certainly not Robert Plant, Robert Page or Jimmy Plant, but Jimmy Page gets my vote because of his unquestionnable live skill. Yes it sounded sloppy, but that was what he wanted: he opted for the marshall amps to get precisely that sound. If he wanted it to sounded clean, it did.
To demonstrate his skill, listen to Thank You from the BBC sessions album. The song in itself is not a Led Zep classic, but the solo on that live version is honestly one of my favorite ones of all time. If you post to question my statement, I want you to at least listen to that before.
youve gotta be kidding me...yes i love the white stripes tehyve got a great sound but when you can learn the guitar part to their songs in 5 minutes there isnt too much talent. on the topic of the thread i dont htink there is an all tiem most talented because there are alot of sick guys who have done different things for rock guitar. ones that come to mind though are eddie van halen, tony iommi, randy rhoads, jimmy page, jimi hendrix, iron maidens guitarists who for some reason's names are escaping me, i mean theres so many wiht so much skill who brought so much to the guitar world its not really possible to say theres an all time most talented guitarist
