tru, they haven't changed. and yes, there are a ton of version that aren't much different, like the 1080, 1080 mogul, i mean the mogul isn't twin tipped, yet they call it one.

by far the best salomon ski, and definately one of the best twins. Why would they change the construction if they have a good ski already?

 
hahaha the 1080 a good ski. id agree with you for the first few months, but seeing as a they have a foam core, any rider, who rides hard will take all the spring out of the ski. you get a noodle if you ride hard enough.

whether you like them or not, 1080's are what started newschool off. look at ski movie, jonney moseley was sponsored by head but was riding the 1080's cause head had nothing, salomon has been there from the beginning and i think they know what they are doing

I have 1080 VDs and I ride them hard as hell and ive had no problems, so I dont know what your talking about

obviously there are defects in ANY ski on the market, you are just looking for something to hate and put down. 1080's are great skis. They're light, good flex for my weight, my silvers are an awesome color, the bases are ill, and they carve with the same radius as my old GS skis. They are amazing. The only twin tip i would've bought would be a kneissl flexonfly/supafly

ive had the blue 1080's since the year they came out, i love the skis, ive done the dumbest shit on them and they dont really get to fucked up, i skied down a 30 set of concrete stairs, did a bizzilion rails and they still carve as normal, they dont have to much pop left but when i do butters its fun

yeh i have had the blue tens also since they came out. they are so awesome, competely indestructable! i centermounted them last year and then they were even better.

my level of radness... it just can't... be quantified.
