It really changed the way I studied after I started writing a few pages of notes in the evening about what I had heard/learned during classes. I've done pretty well without the need for cramming for exams, sometimes didn't even have to study because it solidified what I'd learned into my brain.
Projects are another thing if it's teamwork. It's definitely a love-hate issue as there are always those fucking slackers. I'm lazy, but I get shit done when needed. Assholes who leave you hanging "I just wanna pass, don't care about the grade" are infuriating. Really tough spot as well if they're your close friends..
Enough of these threads 24 hours is absolutely nothing and any person over 12 years old has stayed up for this amount of time. Try like 72. You start to get these weird peripheral hallucinations and sometimes just full blown hallucinations... then you can make a thread and I wont bitch
the closest i've came to being up 24 hrs was last week. the day included being up at 6, driving an hour to take a 7 hour test that cost $650, then drinking 15 beers an unknown amounts of vodka and jack daniels then sleeping at 3. so only 21 hours..
I just pulled an all nighter two nights ago. Still paying the price for it. You are going to be dead tired for a while. Mine was due to studying anatomy and biology through a hands on experiment that last from dusk tell dawn. That in itself is tiring
stayed up for about about 74 hours in may. Partying all night, going to school during the day. I wish i knew how much money i spent on redbull during that period.
Ill be up late tonight working, but we've got nothing on architecture majors. My roommate is an architecture major and over the last 5 days he's probably gotten about 10 hours of sleep. Absolutely ridiculous. He crits at 2:30 today for his final project then will probably sleep for about 20 hours
it's okay, I have my stats final tomorrow so i'm doing a bunch of practice exams now. i'm so tired. but i'm going to whistler for the weekend so at least I have something to look forward to what are you doing?
I'm listening to nero, doing a little calculus, and just chilling. I love taking advantage of the quietness of my house at 3am. Skiing at whis sounds like soooo much fun, I'm jealous :\
ive done wake up at like 10, then around 7 did a series of flights, including a red eye that i didnt sleep on, and then stayed up until probably 2 or 3 the next night, so roughly 40 hours. I think i could do 72+.
I think I've had maybe 10 hours of sleep in the last three or four days. I have a full lab paper due and 2 3hr exams tomorrow. I've stayed up 48 hours pretty easily before, but this is going to be way harder because I'm trying to do the same on 3hrs sleep. And without caffeine. It would be fine if we just had finals. But I have all my lab finals before finals week starts so I still have to attend classes and labs and have all of my work due on top of the exams.I figured out I was in trouble this afternoon when I started walking into walls.
I just finished my final essay, I just became randomly inspired, started writing it at 2am, looked out the window and I was like... WTF whats that light?. i looked at the clock and it was 8:45 am. so i kept writing and went to bed at 9 pm. essay started, researched, proofread, finalized, printed, and handed in all in the the same day.
All nighters are very productive in my opinion. Ive stayed up four nights in the past two weeks and have finished three essays, one speech, and have studied for two test. Needless to say Im getting tons of work done which is uncommon in my life haha. Now its back to my last and final essay for the semester (thank god).
Winter break starts next week after finals and it will be full of sleeping, skiing, and partying. I cannot wait, I have dew tour, a Sound Tribe concert, and christmas to look forward too. Plus CO has been getting nailed with pow this year (at least in the areas that I ski), so it will be a magical month off for me.
never understood how exactly you can let it get to the point of all nighters. I've had immense workloads before, but I still manage to get it done without overnight work. I've had some late nights and long days of work, but never a full night's worth.
do always love walking past the dorm lounges around this time of year though. Suddenly everyone is out there reading, doing essays, and just doing a shitload of work.
I suppose everyone is just a ridiculous procrastinator.
ive never had to pull an all nighter, time management is key, to bad my ability in that has for some reason vanished this semseter... FUCK i have an exam in half an hour, im fucked.
Hypothalamus processes events from the day during sleep. Your going to do yourself much better by studying, sleeping, and eating a big breakfast.
It took me so long to realize this but studying the night before, all day, and going to be bed at 8 PM then waking up at 5 AM and studying till test is a way better option.
You will do better, and have more concentration. You are actually relying on something you learned rather than just short term memory. Your body needs sleep to function with what you have just learned.
second all nighter of the week. I attempted to get a cycle in but couldn't. Exam is in 3 hours, so I think I can make it.
You have to weigh it basically. Is the studying going to outweigh the consequences of not sleeping? Usually it doesn't but sometimes you are so behind that it will.
Shitty part is I have another exam on friday at 9am that i need a solid 10 hours more studying for. probably gonna sleep till like 9pm and then stay up all night again.
