This is my first year trying to get good at the park and it is definitly slow progression. However is it bad that I enjoy riding the whole mountain and even prefer glades over park sometimes?

seriously, not at all. Even the biggest park rats i know sometimes ride around on groomers
 
Holy damn you post a lot, but really though why should that be a bad thing? Free skiing isn't just about riding the park, it's about being free, fooling around, slaying pow and most importantly, having fun.
 
Not at all, just moved to BC from Ontario where I was a hardcore park rat and this year I've enjoyed riding the mountain so much more than park riding even with the shitty conditions, there's just so much more to do when the whole mountains your park and it's good to be an all mountain skier instead of just a park rat!
