All mountain twins

I'm expanding my quiver and looking for some all mountain twins. Looking at the "one ski quiver" kind of deal (yes, I know a one ski quiver doesn't exist, just looking at that type of ski). I am...

-5'9" 150 lb.'s

-Live in Michigan (There's no pow but I go to places with pow)

-Been skiing for about 10 years I would say I'm intermediate-advanced (leaning more toward advanced)

-Have racing backround but I ski mostly park

I want...

-100-115 mm under foot

-Camber and rocker

-Don't have to be super bi-directional, but definitely not directional

-Something that can carve really well on groomers/hardpack

-Can float well

-Playful enough to do nollies and some nose butters

-Stable at speeds, don't want a speed limit

-Decent in crud, but I'm ok with just popping off bumps in the crud instead of blasting through it

That's a lot to ask for in a ski, so just looking for something that meets quite of few of my requirements.

I've been looking at things like Sir Francis Bacons (though I'm worried they have a speed limit), Armada TST (They might be too directional), Moment Deathwish (don't seem very playful), and JJ's (I'm worried about their on-piste preformance).

Any advice is welcome. Yes I have checked out Blister Reviews. No there aren't any demo days in Michigan.

Thanks to anyone who just went through that wall of text!

I also found Atomic Blogs with Atomic Tracker 16s for $700 8/10 condition. Anybody know how this would be and if it's a good deal?

Faction 3.Zero's. Own them now, my favorite skis of all time. Absolutely crush it in all conditions. They are really stiff though, which I personally love. Nordica Patrons are good skis too, little more playful and quicker turning.

used blogs and trackers for $700 is a rip off. YOu could buy them both new for the same total if you did a little research. Give a serious look into the nordica patron. It checks all of your boxes for sure.

You should look at a ski that has metal in its construction. Give the Atomic Alibi a gander: 98mm waist, full wood core, titanium inlay, step down sidewall to full sidewall, 7000 series base, rocker tip & tail with camber underfoot. Definitely should be on your list, it's my personal favorite and daily driver

I own a pair of Al Dentes and they would be perfect for you! Super Buttery! You can get a gnarly carve out of them! And they float pretty well with the AR Nose rocker! Defiantly the most fun ski I've ever owned and I would recommend it to anyone!

line blend is a great ski. Im 6 foot 155 and I rock the 178. I don't do much park on them but they can ski anywhere, are playful with butters and what not, and are 100 under foot. Bacons are also a great ski. I have 185 JJs and don't use them if its less than 5 inches of fresh.

Blogs are pretty good, if you're concerned about hard-pack and speed limits, go up a size. I would also check out moment PB&j's, k2 sheditors or whatever there calling the kung fujas now, and the nordica alcapos.

4frnt devestators. I havent skied them yet but i rode on this years renegades in a 196 length and by riding those i could tell the shape of the devestator is going to be better funer ski that still is supportive. I know there is no camber but the rocker profile grips into ice well enough for what you need

I'm picking up a pair of Atomic Rituals to use as my daily driver. 103 underfoot, slightly rockered tip and tail, and titanium inlay. It's the wider version of the Alibi. I like a stiff ski that charges hard and is durable.

OP I'd add both the Alibi and Ritual to your list of skis to check out. Atomic's Vantage line is under the radar sick.

I should have added the Ritual as well for sure.

OP- you said you wanted a ski that railed on groomers, with lots of edge grip, and no speed limit. If you really want those qualities in your ski, you will have to sacrifice a bit of something else. Sure metal adds a bit of weight, but pick up a pair of Alibis or Rituals and you will find that they are far from heavy. Really one of the most fun well rounded skis I've been on.

yes and they are surprisingly good on groomed snow. I have trouble when I get into crud, and they become a much larger ski that is difficult to handle at speed. Thats why I invested in a shorter, narrower all mountain ski.

also look at the dynastar slicer. stable yet good pop and can power pretty well through crud.

Jeronimo's are said to be playful because of the rocker in them, but they have a stiff flex. PM BWalmer if you have further questions.

You're right, I will definitely have to make some trade-offs when I make my decision. I'm just not sure if I want to trade playfulness for hardpack capabilities. Definitely something to think about. I checked out the weight of the Ritual and they're definitely not heavy but I will check out some more reviews and see.

Have talked to someone with Jeffreys and he said they are pretty playful but great for charging, I don't know how the Jmo's compare, though. I'll talk to BWalmer though thanks.

Many skis will fit your bill, but for a ski that will survive a few seasons and work in whatever conditions are out there - my vote would be the Jeronimo.
